Lovely hotel . Cannot really say anything negative about about it . I ve stayed in many many hotels over the years with work so I am very welltravelled . The staff are very helpful and friendly . Location is great . Very nice buffet and a La carte breakfast . We had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon this morning and it was cooked to perfection . Parking is £15 a night . I was a little worried about finding a car parking space due to some of the reviews I had read . The area is very small so I am not sure how it will work if the hotel is very busy albeit we did not have a problem. Check in was very smooth and quick without any issues . I will definitely return and would recommend . We stayed for 2 nights .

This youth hostel is overall good one. Service is good, location is a bit far from city center and train station as well. Shower room is ok but toilet is not very clean.

Great location for York. Just outside the city wall makes it super convenient to walk to what you would want to see. Onsite parking is limited and expensive but the reception mention a public car park for cheaper nearby which was a great alternative. Would stay again, in fact I did and extended my booking

Overall, it's quite quiet, the curtains are very sunshade, and the breakfast is delicious. The location is not far from York's attractions and can be reached within walking distance. I do not find the room picture, so I post a picture around the hotel.

My wife and I traveled from California for a UK excursion and spent several days in South Kensington prior to visiting York. We took a train from London to York and Ubered from the York train station which we could have walked from had we not had luggage. We absolutely loved this hotel! All room amenities had been upgraded and were modern while preserving the 150 year old feel, including a lovely four post bed. Given the rooms were somewhat tight, the bathrooms were large with full shower/bathtubs and frankly I loved the set up. The down pillows and down comforters were a huge plus which allowed us to stay toasty while letting in the brisk Yorkshire air from the open window. If you are looking for spacious/ modern then go stay in Leeds. This is York for heavens sake so experience it in all its beauty. Modernity is not what this experience is about. There is an on-sight restaurant and bar where service was exceptional. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. York Minister/Shambles/ train station and restaurants are all within walking distance. I highly recommend No. 1 by Guesthouse and sign up for a late night Ghost Tour in the citadel if you get a chance. A big plus was the second floor complimentary snacks where we went down late at night to fetch ice cream, crisps, and drinks if we had the munchies. It was a nice touch and highly welcoming.

We were impressed by every staff. They are very helpful, enthusiastic, and have great service mind. They always smile for every customers. We felt safe when stayed here. The room looks new, quite clean, and peaceful. And the breakfast buffet is so great! I love hot chocolate.

這家青旅的室內裝潢是不錯的，價格也比較實惠。因為約克週末遊客多所以床位有限，我勉強訂到了混住6人間，但運氣不好的是房裡似乎只有我一個女性，而且有位鼾聲很大、自言自語、早上3點起床直接開燈的大哥，導致睡眠體驗很差。需要注意的是，這家青旅的廁所浴室很小，是6人間裏共用的，不是那種樓層共同的，這點非常不方便。

Room 5 on -1 floor was allocated. The room was long and clean. However it was next to the staff service entrance and very noisy. I’ve stopped at this hotel several times from suites rooms and this basement room. I will never stop at this hotel again. On every occasion it’s been a noisy experience. You live and learn.
