Hotel berhampiran Central Methodist Church, York

Staff were friendly and professional. Room was pleasant and well-equipped, with a good shower and quality shower gel etc. Good to see disposable goods minimised.

First of all I need to say that me and my husband often stay in Novotel in different cities and countries and it always was a sinonym of quality for both of us, but in York something went wrong from the very beginning. 1. We have been rejected to add Accor membership account number to our booking once we arrived, even though we booked via Trip.com and it was nowhere to type it while booking 2. Receiptionist asked me about my nationality and when I said that I am Russian,changed her tone of voice and stated that I can speak Russian if I prefer, but she is not going to reply in Russian as it is a principal position, even though it was confirmed she understands it. That was extremely rude and I have never seen anything like that before. Moreover I did never ask this person if I can speak Russian, cause my English is apparently enough to check in to the hotel. 3. We were said we have to book a time slot to have breakfast, but the next day when we arrived to the breakfast room it was almost completely empty. 4. Dirty cups nearby coffee mashine area. 5. Sanitizers left around completely spoiling how breakfast area looks. Overall the hotel looked quite weary. Talking about what went well: charging points by the bed with the usb were handy.

We stayed at the principal York for one night. We booked an urban room (rm 111). Upon arrive to York we are early and we were able to leave our baggage secure at the hotel until we checked in at 3.pm. The staff were very friendly and helpful. After a walk into to York, down the shabbiest etc. we returned to the hotel and booked in. The room was small but just right for one nights stay. Thank goodness for the fan as it was very warm and stuffy. We ate out in York, but had breakfast the next day. It was both cooked and continental. Very nice too! We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was tasteful decorated and although they had a wedding it was peaceful.

Awful stay, sleep deprived because we had a faulty fire alarm screaming alarms into our ears and the last night and following day were completely ruined for us negating the whole point of a short two day city break. Fire alarm was faulty and repeatedly went off during the night, screeching into your ears starting at 10 pm, if that doesn’t sound like fun to you, avoid, especially as the issue wasn’t fixed when we left. Alarm issues started on Sunday morning but didn't seem to be passed onto staff on Sunday evening and were not dealt with or forwarded. Fire alarm went off on Sunday night at 10pm which should have registered a major issue but rather than deal with it, roomzzz just left it. I rang the member of staff on duty and told him it needed silencing due to him saying it was a faulty sensor and i informed him it had gone off before that day of which he was not aware. He simply wasn't trained to do it or trained in escalation and simply left it, having already disturbed everyone at 10pm on a Sunday night which is ultimately managements fault for not making sure staff understood what to do in emergency situations. Faulty alarm then predictably woke everybody up at 2am which i told the member of staff the first time we didn’t want to be woken up again, then at half 2 and then it went off again a few times when the staff member finally decided to get the manager out of bed, which should have happened when the issue first appeared on Sunday morning or at the very least sorted at 10pm when it went off at 10pm Sunday evening. To top it off it went off again Monday morning at 11am. The Manager was nice but full of the usual excuses which i just were not buying, she said it could have been handled better but it was handled at all, it was amateur at roomzzz York. Its likely still faulty as i type this due to the alarm company clearly not being called out. She said there was not a lot that could be done because it’s the fire alarm which is just…a lie, the zone or faulty sensor should have been isolated on the system. Again lack of knowledge on what to do from management. To top it off we had someone hammering away on Monday morning at 11 am, clearly nobody communicates who is in what rooms. Other than that the stay was standard though not to the quality we had when we visited the Chester roomzzz aparthotel. TV was faulty when we booked in which was a minor inconvenience but nothing compared to having screeching faulty fire alarms shocking you out of bed. Awful experience and we rushed home due to been knackered because my partner couldn’t get back to sleep, rather than enjoying the day out in York.

Bilik ini jauh lebih besar daripada hotel di London, dan bilik mandinya sangat besar, menjadikannya sangat selesa untuk tidur. Legasi hotel ini adalah restoran yang sangat popular dan memerlukan tempahan terlebih dahulu. Ia kebetulan adalah Hari Valentine dan restoran penuh saya memesan perkhidmatan bilik dan makan di dalam bilik, yang dirasakan lebih istimewa. Kanak-kanak itu mengalami pendarahan hidung pada waktu malam dan ia berada di seluruh cadar. Saya pada asalnya bimbang tentang bayaran pembersihan, tetapi meja depan hotel terus berkata ”tidak perlu risau”. Saya segera berasa lega daripada permohonan maaf asal saya.

位置，離火車站不遠，地圖走路半小時，從火車站到酒店直接有公交，但是問了四個路人，才搞懂從酒店到火車站的路。離downtown走路十分鐘左右，附近有tesco,比較方便。 設施，挺新的，還可以。 衛生也還可以。 我最想吐槽的是服務。簡直沒有服務。到達時間太早，寄存行李，前台就往寄存室一指，讓我們自己開門。我們都搞不清方向。至少應該過來幫一下吧，拜託，你是酒店，不是公寓式酒店啊。別的同等級酒店，倫敦都會把行李送到房間的，這是什麼態度？ 第二個大無語的槽點是，check in的時候，收了押金，沒收房費，我下午四點多正睡覺，電話鈴刺耳響起來，讓我下樓交房費，說他搞錯了，我說知道了，我一會下樓就刷卡，躺下繼續想休息，結果電話鈴又響了，說他們可以上來，我刷卡，我說我一會下樓刷不行么，我都交了30￡押金了，冷冷的說不行，又重複一遍，讓同事上來我刷卡，體驗感太差了

Booked here for 3 nights. Pictures on internet look fine along with most reviews. But when arrived. Greeted by jason and was told to leave bags downstairs while he checked us in. Took us in a room which was very dated and chairs were badly ripped. (This is the dining area) (Not the best first impression) but jason sorted out the parking permit for us. Then asked what we want for breakfast. Full english and we had to have the same for 3 mornings. . And time of breakfast had to be same time each morning. .Anyway got keys to rooms. Room 6 . Opened door . Room was full of dust. Had a look round and it wasnt cleaned at all. Beds weren't made properly and floor was filthy. Extension cable inbetween 2 single beds. . Wardrobe you couldnt open because it is so close to bed. Dressing table stool couldnt pull it out properly because other bed was in way. Then bathroom . It was disgusting. There were hairs on floor along with plenty of dust. Built up of grime on the shower in corners. Shower which was electric ,it was hot but not much pressure from it. We would of walked away but we were with friends who had booked it and paid up front. At breakfast we went at our set time for the door to be wedged so we couldnt get in. Anyway door opened. Couple of mins later. Toast already on table which was stone cold. with coffee and tea. There were another table for two and their food was on table but hadnt got gown yet. Not good. When we poured coffee it was luke warm. Told the lady and she wasnt very happy. Her response was. Cant be ive just done it . She grabbed it and walked away. She returned with another which was hot but said nothing. Kitchen door was left open and all you could here was a conversation between her and her colleague. Life stories. The kitchen didnt look the most hygienic. Luckily we only used the place to get head down. Beds were awful. Very lumpy and duvet full of bobbles. After 2 nights of having to stay we had to leave couldnt cope with another night in the place. There were lots of other things but i would be writing forever. CERTAINLY WOULD NOT BE RETURNING!!!! Great location outside of York city centre and very easy access from main roads. There is a park and ride service about half a mile down the road which is highly recommended as parking in York can be difficult and expensive. Park and ride journey time is around ten minutes and drops you off close to the Shambles area of town. The accommodation was basic but clean. Bed was comfortable, Shower was very powerful and plenty of towels. Large screen TV. Breakfast was limited but very nice and set us up for the day. The only downside about the accommodation was that it would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room to keep water etc, there was plenty of space to have one. Also it would have been nice to have had a small sofa to watch tv in the evenings as the two desk chairs were not comfortable to sit on for any length of time. Also the walls were very thin as other room noise even conversations could be heard. There is also a Toby Inn next door which does really nice food and various ales.

約克是個小地方，這個酒店感覺是當地的民宿，面積不大，剛到的時候其實不認為是一個很好的選擇。但check in後感覺這個酒店不簡單，首選，我在英國18天，唯獨一間有零食間的酒店，零食間的零食，可以任吃！小朋友簡單當這裡是天堂，有冰淇淋，薯片，糖果，蘋果汁等，整個酒店是木質結構，地板當然也是木的，地方不大，但是清潔度很好，特別洗手間很乾凈。然後房間還有黑膠唱片，唱片的歌曲不滿意可以樓下自己更換。房間的電視也有netfix等app，位置的話也挺好的，約克教堂，步行15分鐘肯定到了，還有停車的話記得提前預約，不然沒有車位停，要去公共車場停了，不過也不遠

The hotel has a great location, it is behind a city wall just next to the railway station, takes actually less than 5 minutes' walk. And don't believe the Google map because it will lead you to a longest walk. Instead ask the staff for a shorter path. And only 10 minutes walk to the York minister. The staff are nice and friendly. Breakfast is delicious. We spent a lovely day at York.
