The Gast House Zell am See

Was expecting a nice lakeside resort from the photos, but arrived and our room had a creaky bed and an awful view to a car park ramp. Asked to change rooms on two separate days but was told they didn't have any rooms free....(Or they would have to change too many things so it would be too much effort..) No air conditioning despite it being 30 degrees - had to request a fan from reception and carry it to the room and then leave a door open (to a road which isn't the safest...) Room clean enough overall, however our bedding had quite a bit of grey dust all over one of the pillow cases when it was changed which isn't great. Spa area ok - sauna was nice, pool was small and not heated (despite reading it was a warm pool). There was also shouting kids so didn't stay long. Sauna only operates from 2pm to 8pm which is odd as most people are out and about at that time anyway. Check in is very late (4pm) and check out is very early (10am). Luggage room unavailable so have to leave stuff in reception area and keep your fingers crossed nobody else comes and claims it. Normally in hotels you get tags and it's locked away. Staff did the bare minimum expected. Overall definitely not a 4 star hotel - equivalent to a basic 3 star hotel in reality. Pictures and some fairly nice decoration make it look better than it is. Wouldn't stay again to be honest.

Very nice hotel, we stayed on the 2nd floor in a building that was not attached so it was a bit difficult to drag our bags to our room. But the room and bathroom was nice and my daughter and I enjoyed it. Very close to the city square for dinner, shopping, and drinks. And Zell Am See Lake was VERY close and within walking distance. Parking was difficult and limited and you had to pay the meter.

Very nice hotel next to the lake. Comfortable , functional , good breakfast , clean and high quality fit outs in the room . Small but functional spa, indoor pool and gym. The staff were helpful . Conveniently located closed to restaurants and main town centre . The complimentary coffee machine brews prefect coffee . We will be back again !

One of the beautiful and comfortable hotels provides free services to customers, including a Zell am See card and free coffee all day. Breakfast is limited but good The crew is helpful They provided help and details about everything From the time of entry to the time of exit

This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. It was perfect. It is an easy walk through the pedestrian free zone. The location is perfect. The bus stop is just a block away. The lake is two blocks away. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast room was large and very pleasant. The food was abundant and offered many choices. The check in was easy and the front desk people were very friendly and offered many suggestions regarding activities and sights to see. I would definitely stay here again if I am ever in Zelle am See again. It was such a great value.

The good: - location - recently renovated - free saunas & dipping pool The bad: - unpleasant staff - noisy bed - not enough sound insulation from hallway / neighbors The nail in the coffin was parking. The underground garage had this “system” where you park your car in a metal cage and a machine hoists it up to make space for more cars. Sounds smart, until the machine breaks and your means of transportation is suddenly locked in a cage with no way to get it out. Instead of ordering us a cab, staff suggested we take a bus 🤦‍♂️ This whole incident made us miss our restaurant reservation & a birthday party about 15min drive away. In the end we were told that it was our fault because we parked the car the wrong way around. Our car and 3 other cars.. Well, if our tiny rental car can break your machine, that’s worth thinking about.

Beautifully modern yet cozy hotel in a great location. Rooms are spacious with kitchenette equipped with basics. There are even welcome drinks in the fridge. We enjoyed the pool although the sauna didn’t seem to be working. We enjoyed the patio off our room. A great place to stay

Great welcome. The quality of services at the top. Very attentive staff. Very good breakfast. Very good tips for visiting the area. We shall come back for certain. We recommande this place warmly....

What a wonderful place to stay!! The hotel is brand new, with a great spa (pool, sauna and relaxation rooms) and facilities. The hotel was really stylish and had a contemporary feel. Great breakfast! Plus wonderful staff. Zell am See is also a great location during the summer.
