The antique architectural style is full of Swiss style; the enthusiasm and friendliness of the front desk lady make everyone feel like you are at home.

I love the philosophy of this hotel, sustainable development and zen! The staff is very friendly and give me good suggestions all the time! The sourdough from the bakery is extremely nice. I love their pizza, cinnamon rolls and cookie! The grill room provide delicious meat and wine! The breakfast is super yummy! The room is very cozy and warm! I love the rainforest shower, the furniture and the books! The spa centre and the garden make me relax! I will come back and recommend to everyone!

Perfect hotel to experience Zermatt! The staff was super nice and gave us great recommendations on what to do to explore the town. Large spa, great breakfast with local delicacies and beautiful rooms - make sure to book one with direct views on the Matterhorn!

Exceptional, lil gem with amazing views of Matterhorn and a bountiful breakfast. Right from the pick up in the electric buggy at the station, handling of the luggage and check in; it was a great experience. The breakfast is probably the highlight, and this I am seeing even though the views of Matterhorn from our balcony (401), were mesmerising. They have an in house bakery, so the place always smells heavenly. The rooms are large and bathrooms luxurious. The service staff is genuinely warm. Loved the stay, will highly recommend.

The Rex is our favorite boutique hotel. Period. Being family-owned going back to last century, it exudes tradition. The multi-lingual staff is helpful to the extreme with suggestions, directions and insider tips. The room was tastefully furnished and included a spacious balcony (full view of the Matterhorn) and an amazingly comfortable bed. The on-premises bakery provides the pastries and breads (locally sourced ingredients) served with the most delectable breakfast. On selected evenings they host an outdoor grill with bar on the lawn. The Rex is just enough off the beaten path to be a peaceful retreat, yet only a five-minute walk to Zermatt’s main street (Bahnhofstrasse). Perfect.

The rex has something really special and we’re so glad we found this place - we absolutely loved our short stay here - the staff are so lovely and really go out of their way to make you feel welcome! Fabulous location, superb healthy breakfasts with their own sourdough from their in-house bakery - what a treat! We also had dinner at their wood-fired restaurant next door (Stockhorn) which was the best dinner we’d eaten in Switzerland! The facilities are second to none - including an excellent large pool and hot steam sauna which we really enjoyed. The rex bar is beautiful with a wood burning fire and has an extensive wine list with natural wines. Our room was spacious, extremely clean and very comfortable with luxurious fittings. Thanks for making our stay so special - we’ll be back!!

I had a fantastic stay at the rex. I was blown away by the morning breakfast spread from local sources, including their in house bakery. Additionally, their spa center (indoor pool, 3 saunas, hot tub, etc) was perfect after a day of skiing. The room was comfortable and the lounge on the main floor was comfortable. overall, I was surprised by my stay at the rex and would come back again

Loved our stay at The Rex. The hotel was fab, the staff so friendly and helpful and the breakfast excellent! The hotel was in a good location, albeit short walk to the lifts/train but also very close to the stop for the free bus that takes you to the lifts. Stayed in the two bedroom apartment in the hotel which worked very well with small kitchen and good size living area and bedrooms. Bathrooms (shower only) were very clean and modern - only minor quibble was that the apartment was quite plainly decorated. The pool and spa area was great for all the family (up to 7pm) and we used it every day. All in all though def recommend.

From the moment we arrived at the Rex, we were treated to a level of hospitality that was truly heartwarming. The receptionist directly greeted us at the door with a big smile and we felt home instantly. The welcome cookies were a delightful touch in the room, and the whole teams recommendations around skiing and restaurants were spot on. We booked the Matterhorn View Suite, which was a perfect blend of traditional but not too old feeling interiors with great views exactly how we like it. The views of the Matterhorn from our private balcony making us every morning excited to head out. The highlight for us was the breakfast. A perfect combination for a mountain hotel: fresh, homemade and with their own bread! The 2 pools and wellness facilities were also great after a day skiing. Our stay at the Rex was the highlight of our European tour so far, and we can't wait to return to stay a even longer! Thanks to all the lovely staff providing us with such a great experience in Zermatt.
