Hotel St. Gotthard is in a prime location, just a 5-minute walk from the main train station, with many bus routes right outside – super convenient. On weekends, Zurich shops are closed, and the big Coop across the street is also shut. You can stock up at the train station's B2 level. The hotel breakfast is excellent; you can order omelets, pancakes, and waffles made to order, and the croissants are delicious.

The hotel's location is excellent, just about a one-minute walk from the central station, the central tram stop, a supermarket, and a food street. The facilities are decent, and the staff at the ground floor restaurant and bar are all very nice. Enjoying a cocktail and a cigar downstairs every evening after dark is simply delightful.

Really lovely experience, every staff did their best to serve us. Free apples at reception. Great location, very close to Zurich HB. Room was very clean and comfortable. Decent breakfast too!

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the Swiss National Museum, and within walking distance of ETH Zurich, making it convenient to get anywhere. We arrived in Zurich from Interlaken earlier than scheduled, and the front desk kindly arranged a room for us before the official check-in time, which we greatly appreciated. The bar on the ground floor is very popular, and the breakfast offers a wide variety of dried fruits. There was a bottle of drinking water in the room, but we had to contact customer service to get slippers. Unfortunately, outside our window was a construction site with a building under construction, causing a lot of noise.

The location is excellent, just a few steps from the train, which makes getting to all the points of interest very easy. Plus, it's next to another mode of transport for quick and easy travel around Zurich. The room is simple; there are no bathrobes to use after a shower, and no conditioner. I requested extra water for medication and didn't receive it. Initially, I was quite disappointed when I saw the hotel; I imagined it would be nicer with a more elegant reception, but it's very simple. The staff were very friendly, which helped a lot with my stay, and they speak Spanish, which I really appreciate and value. I would return to the hotel for the staff, the location, and because it's currently undergoing improvements!

Disappointing Room Experience I was disappointed with the room arrangement and the service during check-in. When I arrived, the staff member told me that a twin-bed room was available and asked me to come back later. However, when I returned, the room still had a double bed, and I was not given the twin beds that had been discussed. This was frustrating, especially because I had specifically expected a twin-bed room. I would have appreciated clearer communication and better follow-up from the hotel. Unfortunately, this experience affected my overall impression of the stay.

Very good service and the location is very good as well. Big Coop supermarket just 1 min walk from the hotel and the main bus station as well. Hotel manager is so nice that even we have some issues with the hotel room arrangement (I didn't know his name). Recommend based on the location, prices and services.

The hotel room is a bit small but functional. It's very close to Zurich train station, which is great for travelers who frequently use the train. The hotel is also easy to find; it's right across the bridge from the station. The funicular to ETH Zurich is also nearby, making it very convenient.

Excellent location, easy walking distance to attractions and amenities. Service was great, and the room was clean and tidy.

The hotel's location is excellent, right across the river from the train station, and there's a large supermarket next door. However, the hotel is incredibly noisy. Trams passing by at night shake the whole building, and it doesn't stop until after midnight. During my stay, there was also some construction going on nearby, with loud drilling and banging starting at 9 AM every morning. I was supposed to stay for six days, but I had to switch hotels halfway through.

The room is clean. But there is no refrigerator. Also, because of the renovation, there is some noise outside.

Seriously, is this a 4 star hotel..?  I have to say, this stay was genuinely disappointing. The staff member at check-in was outright unfriendly, offering none of the warmth or professionalism you’d expect from a hotel welcoming guests. What’s worse, we were placed in a room directly next to an active construction area, despite other rooms clearly being available. On top of that, the construction noise wasn’t something we were consulted about — we were simply informed of it at check-in, as a done deal, with no opportunity to request a different room. That’s not how guests should be treated; being told after the fact isn’t the same as being given a real choice. Between the poor customer service and the lack of consideration in how this was handled, this stay fell well short of a standard I’d expect from any hotel taking its guests seriously. I would think twice before booking here again.

There was some noise due to ongoing renovations. There was no fridge in the room. For breakfast, they had basic bread, ham, cheese, and fruit, and you could order fried eggs, boiled eggs, and coffee which they'd bring to your table.
