The Palmer Hotel is within 5 minutes walk from the Taichung Railway Station.  The remodeled room’s design is nice, pleasant, and functional.  The bed sheet, towels, and drapery are clean. The air confining works well with a cold personal fridge! The room service staff is friendly with good work. The breakfast serves different dishes everyday and they were tasty varieties! I consider the CP value (cost and price) is very high! It is highly recommended for the budget solo travelers!

The location is super convenient—just a short walk from Taipei Main Station, which made getting around the city and to the airport so easy. I always felt safe even when coming back a bit late, which is a huge plus when you’re traveling alone. The place itself is clean, cozy, and well-maintained. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and the common areas are nice if you want to relax or meet other travelers. What stood out the most was how accommodating and friendly the staff were—they’re always ready to help with directions, recommendations, or anything you need. As a female solo traveler, safety and comfort are everything, and Main Inn definitely delivered. It has a welcoming vibe that makes you feel at home while still being budget-friendly. Highly recommend this place if you’re planning a solo trip to Taipei 💛

The positive thing is the location. It was walkable to 2 MRT stations and simending. The room and bathroom look old. The room was also a fire exit, attached to the window was a fire excape device which was very dusty , the window behind the curtain was also very dusty. Otherwise the room appeared superficially clean but the carpet was stained. The reception is located on the third floor. Check-in and check-out procedures were simple and fast. Security of the room is inadequate as anyone can walk in from the street and go up to the room levels. 2 card keys are issued at check in even for triple room, additional card can be issued with a refundable deposit. Ozone machine was used in the room; and we started coughing for 1-2 hrs after entering the room. One of the two washing machines were not working. There was no daily room cleaning, towels can be exchanged piece for piece at the reception. We stayed for 7 days and were allowed room cleaning once.

Hotel decor is cute & oozes cheery vibes. Staff are all very helpful & friendly. We booked a twin room & it was spacious and comfortable, there's even a bathtub in addition to shower area. Hotel breakfast spread exceeded my expectations of typical ********* hotel breakfast. Quite a variety of food options & they were generally tasty too. Really high CP value hotel! If we had to nitpick, the bed was a bit hard to sleep on.

the room is good, comfortable n the common area is clean n tidy, toilet is a bit small. However, an entertainment starts by 4.50am inwhich the fire alarm broke out ,nobody pay attention until smoke comes in. All guests on 7fl goes down, no 1 call the police until I told the store neighbor inwhich she call the fire dept. the 1st officer came 30 mins after this accident. So all guest goes back after 1 hrs n 8 fireman's n 2 ambulance still waiting for the owner. By 10.30am when I checkout, no one talks about it or ask us do we enjoy it. I think if the fire broke out bigger,no one will survive on the 7fl. I hope some improvement must made for the owner. I will be back in Oct, I will stay again.

Chance Hotel in Taichung is exactly what you’d expect for the price of a 3-star hotel, and there’s nothing to complain about at this price range. The hotel is clean and provides all the necessary amenities. The most important highlight is the location—it’s right next to Taichung Train Station. There are also many restaurants and convenience stores nearby, which makes everything very convenient. Overall, a good value stay.

The hotel is well connected around Taiwan, near 7/11 and train station and really easy to get around. Room was a bit small but honestly so common in Taiwan

The hotel is located right above the busiest market in the area. The room was clean and well maintained. Breakfast is simple but offers a good variety. The canteen is on the top floor and overlooks the lake, providing a very pleasant environment. I did not have much interaction with the staff, so I am unable to comment on the service. The hotel reception is quite basic, and the exterior of the building is not very attractive. However, the room itself is well designed. The hotel does not offer additional facilities such as a gym.

The common area located at the level 1 (ground floor) is clean and comfortable. Free coffee and teabag for self service use. The staff were friendly. About 10 minutes walk from Tainan railway station. The soundproofing was not that good. The room itself was small I believe it does not allow to open two 24” luggage at the same time.

We stayed there3 nights. This hotel has a swimming pool and for us that was a big plus. We booked a room has a window. But the window was blocked by the wall. Next time we will book the room without the window. Also when we were staying the hotel, there were so many customers because of Taiwans big holidays. Next time we will avoid during the holiday. Because when we went to the breakfast there wasn’t so many food, but right after the holiday finished, there was plenty of food.
