Lhong Tou Cafe, Yaowarat Bangkok

Address : 538 Yaowarat Road, Khet Samphanthawong, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10100, Thailand Operating Hours : 8:00AM – 10:00PM (Monday to Sunday Daily) Located in the heart of Bangkok Chinatown, the cosy Lhong Tou Cafe is the insta famous eatery that has an interesting dining layout with unique double decked bunked seats/tables arrangement and serving super hipster dim sum, local Thai food and desserts. This place has attracted travellers from all over the world to come and park themselves here for photo keepsakes as well as for the food. Secure wooden panels and metal pipes are strategically placed to form a quirky unique double-decker seat/table structure where people can choose to either sit on the top level or within the enclave at the bottom. There are secure stairways for you to climb up though, I suggest the less agile or heavy set to try the inner bottom enclaves instead. Food to Try includes : The Chinese Set - Comes with plain porridge similar to typical Teochew porridge but with sides (pork floss, Chinese sausage, salted egg york, pickled vegetables, peanuts etc) placed separately in small saucers. Order this if you prefer something light. Egg Lava Buns - Their signature dish which comes in a flaky crispy pastry bun encasing a sinfully rich salted egg york lava filling. A must have ! Thai Milk Tea - Their unique take on the local Thai beverage. Peanut candy bits are sprinkled on top of the foamy drink, thereby elevating the tradtional drink further with an extra flavour and crunch when you sip into it. Prawn Spring Rolls - Thinly rolled spring rolls served in a cup. Dip in the condiment provided and its pure bliss The menu has other interesting offers like their mini BBQ pork buns, durian lava bun, shumai, Thai tea bun , fried wanton etc. You may want to try them too ! Lhong Tou Cafe's uniquely charming modern vibes will certainly entice you back for more ! Note : Be sure to come during off peak hours as otherwise the double decked tables may be fully occupied. Expect to queue for an hour at least during peak. How to get there : Simply take the MRT to Hua Lamphong and walk about 10 mins and you will be able to reach the eatery. I don't advise private hire vehicles as Chinatown as get congested during peak hours. #visitbangkok #urbanexplorer
