A beautiful old city

Yes, a lot of people skip Bergamo in favour of Milan. But you see there is no either Milano or Bergamo. Those are mostly transport decisions or people that feel that they've had enough of historic sights, churches and cathedrals. So, it won't harm skipping Bergamo. But there is more to the place and it is an experience not to be missed. I was never a fan of big cities and the hassle that comes with them. Let alone, the cost. So my mind was set on Bergamo right from the start. I had 3 nights for Bergamo before I headed to Milan. You see the city is split into the upper part and lower. You could keep exploring the old town endlessly. One of the popular things to do is to walk along the Venetian wall through the big white marble gate. This is like an entrance to the upper side. You get to see great views along the way as you are on a height. There is no pin pointing this and that to see. You go with the flow. Plenty of medieval architecture, food is stunning and keeps you motivated. I can recollect some places that might be worth your time. The likes of the old bishops palace, Santa maria Basilica, Bergamo cathedral, donizettiano museum. Lastly, the lower part of the city is the newer part of the city.
