Zytglogge Astronomical Clock Tower

The Zytglogge Astronomical Clock Tower is an ancient astronomical clock tower from the medieval era, built in the early 13th century around the year 1191. Initially, it served as the first city gate, but when the Prison Tower was constructed, it took over the role of the city gate. The Zytglogge was then converted into a clock tower with an astronomical clock installed. Since then, it has become a clock tower and a popular tourist attraction in the city. Inside, there are figurines of people, lions, and bears that rotate, a rooster that crows, and a clown that dances around, providing a highlight for tourists to watch every hour.
