Midui Glacier, one of the six most beautiful glaciers in China

Midui Glacier is located in Yupu Township, Bomi County, Nyingchi Prefecture, Tibet. It is at the junction of the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains and the Boshula Range in southeastern Tibet, which is also a distribution area for China's large monsoon maritime glaciers. The glacier is covered with snow all year round, and the snow is white, but the mixed forest of coniferous and broad-leaved trees below the glacier remains green throughout the year, presenting a picturesque and colorful scenery. Therefore, it was rated as one of the 'Six Most Beautiful Glaciers in China' by National Geographic Magazine. Midui Glacier is probably the closest glacier to National Highway 318. The entrance to Midui Glacier is set right beside National Highway 318, making it very convenient to access. Visitors can take a sightseeing bus from the entrance to Midui Village within 10 minutes, and then hike or ride a horse to the viewing platform. The most breathtaking view of Midui Glacier is from the Midui Glacier viewing platform. The ice tongue descending from the sky shines with a silver light under the sun, and the nearly 800-meter drop makes one feel dizzy.
