Exploring Taichung: A Hidden Bakery in a Historic House

Tucked away in an alley behind a century-old house in Taichung, which used to be the Wu Ophthalmology Clinic, is the 'Wheat Allergy Baking Studio'. The logo outside the store is still the cute eye chart design from the old clinic days. After talking to the staff, I learned that the owner is allergic to wheat but loves bread, which led to the creation of this beautiful and hidden studio. They offer vegan, egg-free, dairy-free, and gluten-containing bread and pastries, making it a safe choice for vegans. Their cinnamon rolls and croissants are popular items, and they often sell out if you come too late. The large garden at the back of the store is stunning, and the staff mentioned that it might be converted into a dine-in area in the future, so stay tuned. Bread lovers shouldn't miss this place. I personally bought a lot of ciabatta—so delicious!
