Experiencing the Rich Culture of Changchun in Late Autumn

When you first visit Changchun, where would you like to go? Fortunately, during my visit to Changchun, I was guided by a friend's family, allowing me to leisurely explore the city and experience its culture and history in the late autumn. Our first stop was not a tourist attraction but a university. Before coming to Changchun, I didn't know it was known as the city of universities and the city of optoelectronics. Thanks to my friend's introduction, our first stop was Jilin University, where we got a feel for the academic atmosphere. Jilin University is quite large, making it a bit challenging to explore on foot. We wandered through its buildings and visited their beautiful library. There are also many other universities nearby, truly living up to the name of the city of universities. After the visit, we took the popular No. 54 tram cultural tourism line. Remember to buy tickets and choose your seats the day before, as tickets might not be available on the same day. During the one-hour journey, we slowly enjoyed the cityscape of Changchun. The trip included coffee, desserts, and some cultural souvenirs, making the 88 yuan day ticket quite cost-effective. Since there weren't many passengers that day, we could walk to the front of the tram to take scenic photos. In the afternoon, we visited the Puppet Manchurian Palace. Since we were not familiar with the history of that period, we joined a guided tour. We learned that Puyi never lived in the palace built by the Japanese because he feared they would eavesdrop on his confidential conversations. He only used the palace for dining, hosting balls, or receiving guests. The tour provided detailed explanations, and we heard many anecdotes about Puyi and his concubines. Additionally, we strolled through South Lake Park, where we saw beautiful birch forests. If you're interested, it's worth taking a walk there too.
