A glimpse of Congjiang County.

This time, I took a few days off to go out for a walk. I originally planned to wait a few years to visit Guizhou, but this time, the head of the family said he wanted to visit Guizhou, and there happened to be a club organizing a trip with a good itinerary plan. So I decided to visit Guizhou this time. First, I went to Guiyang, Huangguoshu, and Libo County. Then, I went to Congjiang. I knew about Congjiang County, but I didn't know much about it. Let's learn about it together: Congjiang County is a county under the jurisdiction of Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province. It covers an area of 3,245 square kilometers (three times the size of Fengtai County, Anhui Province). It has one street, 12 towns, four townships, and three ethnic townships. The main ethnic groups in Congjiang County include Miao, Dong, Zhuang, Yao, and Shui. As of the end of 2023, the permanent population of Congjiang County was 310,700 (the population of Fengtai County was 620,000). As a mountainous county, Congjiang County has abundant tourism resources, including famous scenic spots such as Zengchong Drum Tower, Basha Miao Village, Jiabang Rice Terraces, and Moon Mountain. This time, we first visited Basha Miao Village, and then Gaozeng Township Xiaohuang Dong Village, which was named "Hometown of Chinese Folk Culture and Art" by the Ministry of Culture. Both the Miao Village and the Dong Village are very distinctive in terms of ethnic characteristics, simple folk customs, and warm hospitality. In particular, the performances of the villagers in Xiaohuang Dong Village were full of emotion and passion, which deeply moved me. Long live the great unity of the Chinese nation! The government seat of Congjiang County is Pingmei Street, where we stayed at night. The streets are not wide, but they are neatly arranged along the Duliu River. They are clean and tidy, small and exquisite. As I strolled through the streets, I felt the strong atmosphere of a small town. The citizens were leisurely and unhurried. The ethnic minority villagers set up stalls along the streets to sell their vegetables and fruits, which was full of life. I couldn't help but buy some boiled peanuts, kiwifruit, jujubes, apples, pears, and figs. Then, I had some snacks at a small shop on the street, slowly experiencing the joy of a small town.
