Dunhuang Academy Art Museum, a recreation of the music and dance world of the Mogao Caves!

Previously, I saw a documentary about the various musical instruments and dancing figures in the Mogao Caves 220 Special Cave, and I was amazed by the music and dance world of the Mogao Caves. Generations of technicians at the Dunhuang Academy have been studying the Silk Road musical instruments on the murals since the last century, striving to "bring" them down from the murals and recreate their charm. This is how we later saw the series of dances and music of Dunhuang Silk Road Flower Rain. The Dunhuang Academy Art Museum displays the results of years of hard work by these technicians. The plaque of the museum is hung on a door recessed into the door frame, so it is easy to miss if you are not careful. The museum displays some of the classic musical instruments that appear in the murals of the Mogao Caves, with graphic introductions to the corresponding musical instruments in the murals, allowing us to fully appreciate the charm of the music and dance presented by the capital of China in its most glorious era. 📍On the small road opposite the Mogao Caves Scenic Area, turn left at the exit of the cave scenic area, enter the small road, pass the cultural and creative store, walk about 50 meters forward, and it is on the right hand side. 🕐Peak season (April 1 to November 30), daily 08:00-18:00 (ticket check stops at 16:00); off-season (December 1 to March 31 of the following year), daily 09:00-17:00 (ticket check stops at 15:00) 🎫Free (the "Dunhuang of All Things" 3D show in the museum requires a separate ticket)
