Shilin is known as the world's first Ordovician stone forest. It is located in Taiyanghe Township, Enshi City, Hubei Province. The entire stone forest is shaped like a huge gourd, surrounded by green screens and peaks. The unique "dissolution pattern" and "crown" landscape in the scenic area are a major highlight. The narrow secret realm and fossil relics can be seen everywhere, which can be called an ancient geological museum. After verification by Sun Yat-sen University and China University of Geosciences, it was determined that the stone forest was formed during the Ordovician period 460 million years ago. The entire stone forest is like a seabed maze, which is beautiful.
