Fuzhou Stop 2: Shangxiahang

Shangxiahang is a historic district in Fuzhou that became a bustling commercial hub after the city was opened as a treaty port in the late Qing Dynasty. It was home to dozens of industries, including tea, shipping, medicine, and silk, and is known as the "Traditional Commercial Museum of Fuzhou." It is an important birthplace of the "Min Business Spirit" and was described by Marco Polo as an international trading port. The area has preserved its original historical buildings, and walking through it feels like stepping into a Jiangnan water town.
