Kowloon Park was formerly known as Whitfield Road Military Camp. The military camp land was handed over to the Urban Council in 1968 for development for cultural and recreational purposes. The park was officially opened on June 24, 1970, and was rebuilt by the former Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club in 1989 at a cost of HK$300 million, adding new facilities such as an indoor swimming pool, a sports field, and a children's adventure park. Chinese Classical Garden: Designed based on ancient Chinese architectural style, it is called the "Chinese Garden" and adds a unique charm to the park. Maze Garden: A well-designed plant maze, suitable for fun and challenges for both adults and children.
