Visit Lishui, Zhejiang, and the Fairyland of Xianju

There are so many fairyland-like places in Zhejiang. This time, I went to Lishui and visited Xianju Scenic Area. Xianju Scenic Area consists of five major attractions: Dinghu Peak, Xiaochibi, Xiandu Temple, Niweng Cave, and Zhutan Mountain. It is named after Emperor Xuanzong of Tang, Li Longji, who exclaimed, "This is truly a city of immortals" and wrote the words "Xianju" with great interest. 🟢The biggest attraction of the scenic area is the single stone pillar "the first bamboo shoot in the world" Dinghu Peak, which is more than 160 meters high. It is the filming location of many costume dramas. 🟢There is Guoliang Cliff Road in the north, and there is also a "Xiaochibi" like Guoliang Cliff Road in Xianju. Along the cliffs of the mountainside, there is a natural stone corridor that is 60 to 70 meters long. In many places, only one person can pass through sideways. 🟢Movies and TV dramas such as "Monk Comes Down the Mountain", "Flying Daggers", and "The Legend of the Condor Heroes" were filmed in Xiandu Temple in the scenic area. 🟢There are more than 60 cliff inscriptions left in Niweng Cave from the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing, Republic of China, and modern times. It is the place with the most cliff inscriptions in Xianju Scenic Area. 🟢Zhutan Mountain is named after the famous Neo-Confucianist Zhu Xi, who once lectured in Xianju and took a boat to rest here. 🟢The "first temple in the world" Huangdi Temple, the center of Huangdi worship in southern China, and the national intangible cultural heritage "Jinyun Xuanyuan Sacrifice Ceremony". 🏨There are many homestays in Xianju Scenic Area. The homestay I stayed in this time is located near Dinghu Peak. The homestay is very new, the room is clean and bright, and the owner prepared a Jinyun pancake and a bowl of local noodles for me for breakfast, which tasted like home. The owner's wife lent me her electric bike so that I could ride it around the scenic area, which made the tour much more efficient. 🥢The biggest specialty of Jinyun is pancakes. The dried plum and minced meat are perfectly integrated, and the pancakes are chewy and more fragrant as you eat them. They are 8 yuan each in the scenic area and 5-6 yuan each outside the scenic area. Therefore, you must not buy a full ticket when visiting Xianju Scenic Area. Contact the homestay owner to report the license plate number in advance before taking a taxi or driving into the scenic area. You can rent a small electric bike or borrow one from the homestay owner to avoid the cost of a shuttle bus.
