One of the reasons I came to Hengshui is the enchanting Xingye Street. Located in the old town of Jizhou District, it is an old street area from the 1960s, now a key cultural relics protection unit in Hebei Province. It feels like being on the set of a period drama, yet it was a place that truly existed in history. Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, photo studios, state-owned taverns, department stores, health clinics, People's Assembly Halls, Xinhua Bookstores... The taste of history is the taste of old buildings. Don't miss the People's Assembly Hall on Xingye Street, which dates back over 70 years. Compared to modern buildings, there had to be a place for people to gather and for public announcements. Although only ruins remain, its grandeur is still unmatched. The principle I've always adhered to is: no matter how advanced technology becomes, one must personally visit and see the architecture to consider it fully experienced. Even if the internet can provide a 360-degree perception and real-time street views, it can't compare to the personal sensation you get when you are in the actual space with all your senses open. It becomes a profound part of your memory and can suddenly flash through your mind at any moment.
