It is said that Panluo City in Kashgar was the main base of Ban Chao's garrison

When you arrive in Kashgar, you must visit Panluo City. It is said that this was the main base where Ban Chao of the Eastern Han Dynasty managed the Western Regions. Panluo City is the earliest city ruins in Kashgar. In Uyghur, it is called 'Aisugushar,' which means abandoned city. It is located in the southeastern suburbs of Kashgar. Archaeologists believe that this might be the Wujicheng of the Shule Kingdom in the Eastern Han Dynasty, while others think it was the Shule Town in the Tang Dynasty. When we visited, Panluo City was almost deserted, with lush green grass. Only a section of the ancient and heavy city wall ruins recorded the prosperity of Kashgar at that time. Both the people of Kashgar and we tourists are willing to believe that this is the Panluo City where Ban Chao once stationed.
