Meet the traces of Muslim a thousand years ago in Malaga

#celebrateit The first southern Spain city I went to was Malaga. Prior to arrival, I had no idea of its history of Muslim ruling. I think it’s one of the lesser known fact to the world—according to Malaga Museum, even a fact that Spanish tried to downplay many centuries ago. But due to this part of history, however short, there are many alcazaba—which is some kinda palatial fortification—left over by the Muslims in different cities in the southern Spain. This was one of them. One wonderful thing that I learnt of Malaga is: Sunday is the free entry day of many attractions, including the Alcazaba, and Gibralfaro Castle starting from 14:00. On other days, it would be 3.5€ for either of them or 5.5€ for both. Though interesting, had you included Seville/Granada on your itinerary, you may skip this place if you’re tight on schedule. Because they are of similar styles/elements, but the alcazaba/palaces in the two cities are many times more intricate and mindblowing.
