#GlobalTravel Dogo Onsen is located in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture and is one of the oldest hot springs in Japan. When you come here, the first thing that catches your eye is the retro and cute exterior of the station, which retains the architectural design from more than 100 years ago and combines it with Western architectural style, making the appearance elegant and beautiful. When I came to Matsuyama, what I was most looking forward to was riding the "Boyaku Train" (Boyaku-chan Train), which is famous for the train that appeared in the novel "Boyaku" by Japanese literary giant Natsume Soseki. The carriages are decorated mainly in wood tones. The conductor will explain the history of the train along the way, and after arriving at the final stop, Dogo Onsen, the train will be turned around manually! It was summer when I took the train. Since the carriages retained the old environment, there was no air conditioning installed. So if you want to take the train, I recommend you avoid the hot summer! Dogo Onsen Honkan is a historic building where you can relax and feel the Japanese cultural atmosphere.
