Sierra Mijas forest fire site

On the way to Mijas Pueblo from autovía A-7 you can go and see the summer 2022 forest fire site. The forest fire itself was a tragic accident, a sad thing that highlighted the heat and dryness of the summer 2022. Anyway the fire fighters were very quick and efficient and managed to extinguish the fire amazingly quickly. What’s left is the area where the nature is gaining the control again and it’s amazing. It shows to the visitor that a fire is not the end - it’s the beginning of a new life as well for the nature. Somehow walking on those paths made me think how much I really value the untouched nature. The slight smell of smoke can still be sensed and the views are amazing where green, orange and black together form an amazing view to the nature. I never hope anything like this to happen anymore but it’s a place to visit indeed. You can access the site from the route A-368 quite exactly one kilometer before Mijas Pueblo. The road to the parking to Cartera Los Arenales can sometimes be closed but using that parking area is the most convenient way to access the site.
