After the visit, you will be impressed how this temple goes through several destruction (mainly due to the wartime wrong did) and still able to preserve this level of completeness. Although there are some minor changes occurring during the rebuild of the temple such as the roof has reduced to 7 bays from its original version of 11 bays due to the lack of funding, the Japanese should have their willingness to preserve most of the building as well as the internal part to not much differences from the 1000 years ago version. If you visit here, kindly spend 1-2 hours for the visit so that you have enough time to feel the beauty of the Todaiji. I saw most of the visitors were just buying the ticket to enter the hall for photo taking and left. Personally, I think it wastes the essence of enjoying the beauty of the historical place if you just rush for photo taking.
