Goddess of Wisdom - Qiongmu Gangga Snow Mountain

Located in Nimu County, Lhasa, the stunning Blue Ice Lake is about 150 km from Lhasa, a drive of just over 2 hours. Legend has it that this snow mountain was once a witch, but she was subdued by Master Padmasambhava on his way from Ali to Lhasa and became the 12th guardian deity of Tibet - the Goddess of Wisdom. The mountain is covered in snow all year round and is over 7,000 meters above sea level, while the Blue Ice Lake is 5,100 meters above sea level. Those who are prone to altitude sickness should be cautious. Route: From Lhasa, take the G6 Beijing-Tibet Expressway towards Yangbajing, exit at Majiang, and take Provincial Highway 304. There are road signs along the way. There is a checkpoint on the small road near the entrance to the scenic area near the tourist center that charges a sanitation fee of CNY 10 per person. Follow the small road for about 30 minutes to the parking lot, then climb the mountain for about 30 minutes to reach the lake. You can see the snow mountain from all angles along the way, and every turn on the mountain road is a great place to take photos. It is recommended to drive an off-road vehicle and take photos on the roof of the car. Note: The altitude is high, and climbing at high altitudes can cause severe oxygen deprivation. Those who are prone to altitude sickness should be cautious. It is a little difficult to descend the mountain.
