Shanxi Province, Pingyao County | Exquisite Wood Carvings of Longfu Temple in Nanzheng

Longfu Temple is located in the north of Nanzheng Village, Nanzheng Township, Pingyao County. It is a well-preserved Qing dynasty Buddhist temple with a complete layout. The temple has a regular layout and well-preserved Qing dynasty structure, with many exquisite Qing dynasty murals. The main hall is made of exquisite materials and has fine workmanship, with high historical and artistic value. According to historical records, the temple was built in the 2nd year of the Dade period of the Yuan dynasty (1298) and was rebuilt in the Ming dynasty and the 5th year of the Jiaqing period of the Qing dynasty (1800). Longfu Temple faces south and covers a total area of 2,954 square meters. The temple has two courtyards, with a screen wall, mountain gate, Dharma protector hall, Great Buddha Hall (only the foundation remains), and Mahavira Hall built along the central axis.
