Pompeii, a city abandoned by volcanoes

Pompeii was a luxurious Roman resort city 2,000 years ago. It was a wealthy and luxurious city with many facilities such as theaters, baths, shops, a water pipe system, and even a giant amphitheater for sports competitions. However, the city collapsed when Mount Vesus erupted, killing almost all the people in the city. Most of the people who died were those who thought it was safe to hide in their homes, until the lava was several meters thick and the houses collapsed. The prosperity of Pompeii can still be seen from the houses and mansions, some of which are still in good condition, with paintings along the walls. Some houses even have fountains in the middle of the houses. Currently, Pompeii has been excavated and well-preserved. Many tourists visit each year.
