Kumkang Makguksu 금강 막국수

A must-visit makguksu (buckwheat noodle) place if you ever visit Gapyeong, especially during warm or hot weathers. This restaurant is hidden in the very rural area of Gapyeong; however, many continuously visit this place for its delicious makguksu and its traditional vibe. The restaurant building is like a traditional Korean house, and you will have to take off your shoes when you enter the dining room. Makguksu is a little similar to naengmyun (cold noodle). The difference is that makguksu has high concentation of buckwheat flour in its noodles giving its texture and name meaning "rough noodles." Makguksu is also served with kimchi broth unlike naengmyun. Pour some cold kimchi broth into the makguksu and add vinegar and mustard at your preference.
