Shaoyang Celebrity Memorial.

Shaoyang is a prefecture-level city in the southwest of Hunan, formerly known as Baoqing. It has a long history, rich cultural heritage, and abundant tourism resources. We drove to Shaoyang, mainly to visit Langshan, a national 5A-level scenic spot in Shaoyang. There is a separate travelogue, so I won't go into details. Shaoyang also has Baoqing Ancient City, the Old Eight Scenic Spots and the New Eight Scenic Spots, Nanshan National Park, and more. Baoqing Ancient City is located in a busy area. We drove there in the morning, but the roads were congested, and parking spaces were hard to find, so we gave up on visiting the ancient city and went to the 4A-level scenic spot, Cai E's Hometown, located in Cai E Township, Daxiang District, Shaoyang City. It is 17 km from Baoqing Ancient City to Cai E's Hometown. Driving in the city is slow, but once you leave the city, it's smooth sailing. Cai E's Hometown is free to visit and includes a paifang, Cai E's former residence, Cai E's bronze statue square, a memorial hall, the Huguo Junshen Tower, the Duzhi Study, and green mountains and forests. There is a large paid parking lot. Shaoyang is the hometown of modern musician He Luting. The He Luting Grand Theater is located in Ailian Cultural Square in Shaoyang City. The circular building with pointed triangular window decorations is magnificent. The statues of celebrities in the square are tall and vivid, attracting attention. Ailian Cultural Square is inspired by the prose "Ailian Shuo" by Zhou Dunyi of the Northern Song Dynasty. It covers a total area of 12.5 hectares, about one-third the size of Tiananmen Square. The descendants of Yue Fei's fifth son, Yue Ting, have been living in Shaoyang for more than 30 generations. During the Qing Dynasty, the Yue Family Ancestral Hall was built in Shaoyang. The relocated and rebuilt Yue Family Ancestral Hall (also known as Yue Fei Memorial Hall) is now located in Niaoshan Village, Gaocongshan Town, Shuangqing District. In the center of the open square next to the memorial hall stands a statue of Yue Fei, completed in 2020, holding an imperial edict in his right hand and a sword in his left hand, looking heroic. The Yue Fei Memorial Hall is generally open to visitors, but we were unlucky, and it was closed that day, so we could only look at the exterior.
