The layout of the buildings in Dai Temple reflects the Confucian concept of ritual, with the entire complex centered around a north-south axis and balanced horizontal expansion. The main buildings on the central axis are: Yaocan Pavilion, Dai Temple Square, Zhengyang Gate, Peitian Gate, Ren'an Gate, Tiangong Hall, Zhongqin Palace, and Houzai Gate. There is an east-west corridor between Ren'an Gate and Tiangong Hall, forming the central enclosed courtyard of Dai Temple. The main building, Tiangong Hall, is located on a large double-layered platform, with a drum tower in the middle of the east corridor and a bell tower in the middle of the west corridor.
