Asakusa & Senso-ji Temple

Asakusa is one of Tokyo’s most iconic spots, and Senso-ji Temple is the heart of it all! Walking through Kaminarimon Gate, with its giant red lantern, felt so surreal—it’s one of those places you always see in pictures, but being there in person is even more magical. Nakamise Street, the shopping street leading to the temple, is full of cute souvenir shops and delicious street food. I tried a fresh taiyaki (fish-shaped pastry with sweet red bean filling) and a crispy melon pan—both were amazing! The temple itself is stunning, with its red pagoda and massive incense burner where people wave smoke over themselves for good luck. The whole area has such a lively yet spiritual vibe, making it a must-visit for anyone in Tokyo. After exploring, I took a sumida river cruise nearby, which was such a relaxing way to end the day!
