Liechtenstein National Museum

The Liechtenstein Museum is located in Vienna, Austria. It contains numerous art collections of members of the Liechtenstein royal family, including many important European works of art. It is one of the world's top private art collections. Before the Anschluss in 1938, the museum was open to the public at several locations including the Liechtenstein Garden Palace in Alsergrund and the Liechtenstein City Palace in Bankgasse. It reopened on March 29, 2004, but closed to daily public tours in November 2011 due to low visitor numbers. According to the official website, an appointment is required to visit the Royal Collection. This royal collection was sent to other countries, especially the United States, for museum tours. It also has regular exhibitions at the Liechtenstein Art Museum in Vaduz, which features modern art donated to the country by the Princely House of Liechtenstein.
