A palace fit for a King

Lying just outside Paris, is one of France’s most iconic and historical sites: The palace of Versailles. The home of the nations most famous monarchs all the way up to Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, the sheer opulence on display here is a site to behold. Walking around rooms such as the hall of mirrors and the King’s chamber in addition to the expansive gardens it’s not hard to see why there was a detachment between the people and the monarch which eventually led to the French Revolution. #palace #versailles
