The Lone Tree of Wanaka in New Zealand is not lonely.

10/15-17 We were in Wanaka This post is specifically about the day we left Wanaka on 10/17. After having breakfast in the town, we headed straight to the most popular tree in Lake Wanaka 🤩 It was a cloudy day, so the lake didn't look very blue in the photos. I changed into my newly bought horse-face skirt for the photoshoot (and coincidentally met a sister who was also wearing a horse-face skirt🤣). There were quite a few people taking photos, so I felt the tree might not be that lonely after all🤣. After spending almost an hour there, we drove to Twizel, passing through the 'Lindis Pass,' which is known as the most beautiful highway (pictures 10-11). We stopped at designated spots to take photos (this is very important! Do not park randomly on the roadside!). There were actually a lot of vehicles passing by at high speeds, with loud noise and dust🤣, but it was a very beautiful spot worth stopping for photos. The drive from Wanaka to Twizel took nearly two hours. It's quite amazing, and one of the reasons I find New Zealand so beautiful. Along the way, we passed through lush green forests, vast grasslands (with cows, sheep, and horses leisurely grazing😍), the autumn-like yellow grasslands of Lindis Pass, and finally, as we approached Twizel, we saw distant snow-capped mountains. Every turn and every view was different, like experiencing all four seasons, and all were beautiful😍. A self-driving tour in New Zealand is really worth it!
