If you come to Wanaka only to see Lake Wanaka and the lonely tree, you are wrong!

Wanaka is more than just Lake Wanaka and the lonely tree, there is also Lake Hawea and the Wedding Tree. Lake Hawea is the sister lake of Lake Wanaka, about 30 minutes' drive from the town of Wanaka. If you drive from Pukaki to Wanaka, you can drive here on the way. Navigate to the parking lot by the lake for free parking, and follow Wedding Tree Road to Lake Hawea. The Wedding Tree is very big and you can overlook Lake Hawea. The benches under and beside the tree are very photogenic. Lake Hawea feels closer than the Tekapo Snow Mountain and has a more layered feel; it is more majestic than Wanaka. It is more pleasant and secluded here, and there seem to be few out-of-town tourists. Watching the locals paddling, yachting, surfing, sunbathing, and dogs swimming, time should be "wasted" like this~ At midnight on a clear day, the sky is full of stars and it is extremely romantic. You can also take pictures of the Milky Way, and the photos are not inferior to Lake Tekapo at all!
