Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area (Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province, 5A).

Tianmen Mountain (Tianmen Mountain), formerly known as Songliang Mountain, is located at No. 11, Dayong Middle Road, Yongding District, Zhangjiajie City, Hunan Province. It is the branch of the Wuling Mountains extending eastward into the Dongting Lake Plain, with an altitude of 1518.6 meters. The uplift of Tianmen Mountain began in the Yanshan Movement, and then the Himalayan Orogeny, which created the main body of the uplift of Tianmen Mountain. After strong erosion and leaching, the current karst mountain landform was formed. Tianmen Mountain has a subtropical mountain prototype monsoon climate. The forest on the top of Tianmen Mountain is a primitive secondary forest with a variety of precious tree species and rich wildlife resources. The total area of Tianmen Mountain Tourist Area is 96 square kilometers, and the top area is 2 square kilometers. It integrates peaks, stones, springs, streams, clouds, and forests, and integrates majesty, strangeness, beauty, danger, and quietness. Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area is composed of Tianmen Cave Scenic Area, Biye Yaotai Scenic Area, and Seeking Immortal Wonderland Scenic Area. Tianmen Cave Scenic Area is located in the middle and upper part of Tianmen Mountain, with an altitude of 1300 meters. It is the only one of the four major scenic spots in the whole mountain that is not on the top of the mountain. Tianmen Cave Scenic Area is named after Tianmen Cave, and Tianmen Cave in Tianmen Mountain is the most representative scenic spot. The area includes Shangtianti, Tianmen Cave, Tianmen Mountain Cableway, Tongtian Avenue, Air Stone Forest and other small scenic spots. Biye Yaotai Scenic Area is the core protection area of Hunan Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park. The area includes Bonsai Stone Area, Lingquan, Lingquan Courtyard, Yunmeng Xianting, Primitive Secondary Forest, North Overlooking Tianmen, South Overlooking Tianmen, Love of Wood and Stone, Cherry Bay and other small scenic spots. Seeking Immortal Wonderland Scenic Area is located in the west of the top of the mountain and is the birthplace of Tianmen Mountain's "hidden culture" and "fairy mountain culture". The area includes Qiu'er Cave, Guigu Cave, Baihe, Guigu Bingpan, Lingxiao Terrace, Guigu Plank Road, Glass Plank Road, Tianjie Buddha Country Scenic Area, Li Na's Cabin, Suzhai Building and other small scenic spots.
