Pros: • Excellent location, within walking distance to The Bund, making it very convenient for getting around. • The rooms are compactly designed; basic room types aren't very spacious but are fully functional, suitable for short stays. • The hotel offers a very thoughtful service of receiving packages on behalf of guests. • Free coffee and self-service laundry are provided, which is great for long-term or business travelers. Points to note: • Corner rooms are smaller than standard rooms; if space is a concern, it's advisable to confirm the room type beforehand. • If you have a window room, the sound insulation is poor, with outside or corridor noises being quite noticeable. • It's recommended to choose a windowless, inward-facing room type, which will be much quieter and better for rest; the front desk is also willing to assist with room changes. Summary: Overall, it offers good value for money, with its location being a major plus and practical facilities. However, for guests who prioritize quietness and space, it's recommended to carefully choose the room type. MM346363****Our stay at this hotel was fantastic! They offer a free shuttle service to Disneyland with convenient timings at 6:20 AM, 7:30 AM, and 9:00 AM. They also provide complimentary, on-demand pick-up and drop-off service to the subway station. The breakfast was delicious and had a great variety, including fresh-made eggs, mini wontons, and freshly baked egg tarts. In the evenings, they offer a free late-night snack service with options like noodles, vermicelli, sweet soups, and congee – highly appreciated! 👍👍👍 Upon check-out, they even prepared a snack bag and building blocks for the kids. The hotel lobby on the first floor also has a children's play area. If we couldn't make it for breakfast, they'd pack it for us without hesitation, carefully preparing a generous selection of food (milk, bread, fruit, eggs, egg tarts, pancakes, and snacks)!!! They were incredibly enthusiastic, even bringing it to the lobby for us. When they picked us up from Disneyland in the evening, they had ginger cola and jujube longan tea ready, along with duck-shaped bread and walnut biscuits to tide us over. It was truly a lifesaver in the cold winter; the service at Maxwell International Hotel kept us warm. 👍👍👍 As soon as we returned in the evening, they directed us to the late-night snack bar. Later, when my child wanted milk, the front desk even brought warm milk to our room before bedtime. This level of service is absolutely top-notch! 👌👌👌 The hotel facilities are very comprehensive, comfortable, and spacious! The soundproofing in the room was excellent, allowing for a quiet and peaceful sleep. The heating from the air conditioning was superb, and the bathroom's automatic ventilation worked well, ensuring good air circulation in the room. The cleaning staff proactively tidied our room every day, even washing our dirty clothes and returning them to the room. They meticulously cleared all our trash and kept the floors impeccably clean. The bedding was changed daily, which was wonderful. 👍👍👍 All the hotel staff were incredibly warm and thoughtful, making us feel right at home. From the cleaning ladies to the front desk and all the restaurant staff, everyone was exceptional. The environment is beautiful, with a stunning Christmas tree on the first floor that's perfect for photos. The Santa Claus stickers at the entrance also make for great photo opportunities. The hotel is conveniently located next to Wanda Plaza, the subway station, and a lively pedestrian street night market. Shopping at Wanda Jinjie is also very easy. Transportation from the hotel is super convenient; a taxi takes just a few minutes, 24/7. The second floor of the hotel also boasts a SPA, wellness center, private dining options, large conference rooms, and banquet halls, making the facilities incredibly comprehensive. It's a fantastic choice for family trips, friends' getaways, business travel, and couples. From the moment I arrived, the check-in experience was warm and welcoming, accompanied by genuine smiles. I would especially like to compliment Chris (I remember her name because it reminds me of Christmas). She was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and thoughtful, showing true attentiveness and care. Her service perfectly reflected the high standards and gracious hospitality that The Ritz-Carlton is known for. One small tip for future guests: it may be best to avoid corner rooms. While they are comfortable, the view can be limited, and the room door is very close to the neighboring room. You may occasionally hear noise when the neighboring door opens or closes. Aside from this minor point, everything else was perfectly fine.

Cissy was incredibly professional and meticulous, from confirming our needs in advance to her daily room checks; her attentiveness was constant and she even helped arrange a surprise birthday cake for me, which was such a warm gesture. Alan had a bright and energetic smile, promptly handling our luggage and dining requests. He also shared some popular local hotspots, saving me from getting lost. Their teamwork made our entire stay feel as comfortable as being at home, and the hotel facilities are top-notch! I highly recommend it – definitely give Cissy and Alan a five-star shoutout~

AAnnisidelvxingbijiFacilities: Compared to some of the hotels in the old Bund area, Banyan Tree is a newcomer, so the overall facilities are newer. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, all over 60 square meters, which is excellent for this location. Service: When checking in, since there weren't two adjacent rooms available in our original booking (we were a family of 4 adults and 1 child), they proactively upgraded our room type. The service during our stay was also very attentive. As it was my husband's and mother-in-law's birthdays the day before and the last day of our stay, respectively, they even sent us a small cake, which was a very thoughtful touch. Ambiance: With Christmas approaching, the hotel already had a strong festive atmosphere, especially the Christmas tree in the garden. It looked absolutely beautiful when lit up at night and was perfect for photos, haha.

GGuest UserNear to railway station. Major plus for our group. Train access was one of a key plus point too. Took cab however to most places we had a kid. Took a train to Jing An (3r per adult) and from Airport (7r per adult). Pretty convenient and affordable though didi wasn’t expensive. Food is meh at breakfast and Executive Lounge - pretty repetitive with a few changes here and there. International but of course still more Chinese food. Chinese food is too oily and heavy flavoured for our taste but that could be subjective. Front desk was decent. One of the concierge guys was pretty helpful. Hotel is modern, clean, beautiful hardware though. Breakfast is for two per room but could be added at 100r a day before or 130r on the day itself. Additional person for executives lounge access could be waived for a review though we didn’t utilize that. We had the executive suite room with large access. Huge room we are pretty satisfied. Our room looks out to the railway station which was wgreat for us as we were heading to Suzhou after Shanghai 30 mins HSR away. Walk is 5 mins away. The bathroom siding door couldn’t be locked as that was faulty. Dyson hairdryer. Huge bath space. Offered to convert sofa bed to bed without charge for that first so that was great. Not many big issues, I think we could stay again dude. Of course Shanghai has many great options as well, except for the food - wouldn’t order breakfast or get lounge access - would rather head out to eat. They provided cute, toddler bathrobe, toothbrush and guest room slippers - which made my kid happy. I would also suggest to add much needed potty related accessories including a step up stool. All good otherwise, will recommend. Room pictures look as as what is on Trip, so sorry no pictures taken.

AAnonymous UserEvery time I come for a staycation, the hotel lobby feels bright and comfortable, and the service is excellent. I'd especially like to commend a lovely lady from Malaysia named ”Evelyn.” She's not only beautiful but also very professional and well-mannered! As soon as I arrived, she had already reserved a room for me on the 19th floor. The room was comfortable and tidy, and the housekeeping staff was also fantastic. Every time they saw me return, they knew my preferences and would specially prepare extra items I needed in the room. It truly felt like home, very warm and inviting. The coffee and tea used in the room and lounge are also imported. As for the hotel's breakfast, its quality hasn't declined over the years; in fact, it's gone up a level! The variety is richer, and the taste is superb! The hotel also has many other facilities, including a Shanghai cuisine restaurant, a Western restaurant, and a Cantonese Chinese restaurant. There's also a gym. The hotel also has a very comfortable terrace, perfect for chatting and relaxing~ I highly recommend everyone come and experience it; you definitely won't be disappointed!

As a first-time visitor, he genuinely surprised me with his warm and patient assistance, even helping me send a package. Mark was incredibly patient and efficient throughout, helping me plan my Shanghai fashion shopping itinerary. With him around, I didn't have to worry about planning anything for my trip! Max's service was also excellent, helping me take photos. The Christmas decorations were absolutely stunning. I'll definitely look for them again on my next visit!

He seemed like a real food enthusiast and confidently told me their breakfast was excellent, urging me to try it on my first visit. He was absolutely right! The breakfast quality was very high, with a rich variety of both Chinese and Western options. If you went a bit later, there was even a queue. I was very satisfied with my stay overall. I've stayed at most of the five-star and luxury hotels around the Bund, and this one offers the best value for money.
