Shell Kingdom

Qinhuangdao Shell Kingdom is located in Nandaihe Tourist Resort, Beidaihe New District, Qinhuangdao City. It is a shell science museum and health tourism Attraction with the theme of displaying shell specimens, integrating marine life exploration, shell research and collection, science education, cultural tourism and entertainment. The museum has more than 40,000 exhibits of various types, and the collections come from major oceans, rivers, lakes, land and mountains in the world, including paleoammonite fossils (ancient mollusk cephalopods) and large mollusk cephalopod specimens.

The Shell Kingdom is a natural masterpiece that contains natural sciences, humanities, social sciences, and aesthetics. Every shell here will tell you its story through its unique texture.

The exhibition hall is divided into eight parts: the Mollusca Exhibition Hall, the Original Paleozoic Shell Fossil Specimens and Paleozoic Ammonite Fossil Specimens Exhibition Hall, the World Marine Shell Division Exhibition Hall, the World Terrestrial Shell Division Exhibition Hall, the Chinese Freshwater Shell Division Exhibition Hall, the Shell and Human Relationship Exhibition Hall and Screening Hall, the Marine Biology Science Museum, and the Shell Handicraft Shopping Street.

When you enter the museum, you will see colorful and bizarrely shaped rare shells on display; the shell dream world that integrates sound, light and electricity will take you into a dreamlike wonderland. The museum's collection of shell treasures includes many precious and strange snails that have been polished by history. These rare snails in different morphological structures will accompany you to explore the changes of them and even the earth.

Here you can see large shells known as the "King of Sea Shells", small sand shells that can only be seen with a magnifying glass, large animal specimens that dominated the ocean 500 million years ago, and learn about the marine shell farming process. The Shell Kingdom will also present you with the various attributes that shells have been given from a historical materialist perspective, and through legends and historical research, you will learn about the many connections between the microscopic world of the Shell Kingdom and humans.
