Wuzhong is located in the upper reaches of the Yellow River, in the middle of Ningxia, Yinchuan in the north, and Zhongwei in the south. When the West Han Dynasty, the city was built in the river (Yellow River), and Lingzhou County was set up. The East Han Dynasty was changed to Lingzhou County. When the Tang Dynasty Anshi chaos, Tang Xuanzong fled Sichuan, Prince Li Heng in Lingwu (that is, Lingzhou, today Wuzhong) ascended to the throne.

The second-largest population growth rate is Wu Zhong, 8.55％. Wuzhong's main city is located in the hinterland of Yinchuan Plain, with relatively good geographical conditions and close to Yinchuan. The total population of Wuzhong is about 1.38 million, which is only in Yinchuan in Ningxia.
