Donghuasi

Donghua Temple is located in the middle of Donghua Mountain in the Dada Formation of Longping Village, Changzhou Town, about 12 kilometers away from Wuzhou City. According to legend, in the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty, Zhang's family founded the temple and nunnery and purchased properties. At that time, the abbot raised bronze to cast a Buddha statue, and it happened that an old woman who picked a woodcutter gave her a copper coin. During the smelting process, the copper in the furnace jumped and did not melt. The monk repented and jumped down from the pond to retrieve the discarded coins and put them into the furnace. The Buddha statue was successfully cast. During the Tongzhi period, the left shoulder of the Buddha statue seems to have a copper coin hidden between the sleeves.
