Fengshun County is located in the eastern part of Guangdong Province. It is the ancestral home of former Thai Prime Ministers and brother and sister Thaksin and Yingluck Shinawatra. It was also the home of Self-Strengthening Movement leader Ding Richang and Chinese heroine Li Jianzhen. Fengshun is also known in China for its hot springs, for the longevity of its people, for being the electro-acoustic capital of Guangdong, and for being a famous hometown of overseas Chinese. Its famous attractions include Dragon Whale River Rafting, Longgui Waterfall, Jieling Feiquan Scenic Area, Tonggu Peak, and Jigong Temple.
