Villa di Borobudur

How good it is to go to an Indonesian hotel that has a star rating that matches its facilities. So many times in the last few weeks we have stayed at hotels that SAY they are five-star but are nowhere close to that. Sarasvati Hotel is listed as 3-star, and 3-star it is. It is spectacularly well located within walking distance of Borobudur Temple, there are lots of restaurants within easy walking distance, and there is a convenience store across the street. The rooms are clean but dated, and set around a quiet courtyard. It would be good to have a desk and chair, and easy access to a powerpoint in the room. I was able to use a table in the dining area for this though. Breakfast was a very pleasant surprise. As a boutique property, I expected there may be little on offer, and certainly not buffet-style. I was wrong. There was tea & coffee, juices, fresh fruit, rice, noodles, a chicken dish, a vegetable dish, a few local goodies, and bread for toasting (butter and 2 jams). There was also an egg chef for made-to-order eggs. My only criticism would be that used dishes were not cleared from the table promptly (or without having to ask). The staff was friendly, and courteous, and provided some good information about the changes to viewing at the Borobudur Temple. The gardens and pool were terrific. Rooms are on two levels, so try for the ground floor level if you do not want to climb stairs.

This is a stunning and peaceful hotel with absolutely fabulous service. Every need and want was catered to. Immediately after picking us up from the airport, we were presented with a suggested itinerary and dining recommendations. At any moment, we need only message the Butler to get a reservation or plan an excursion. The villa itself had awe-inspiring views, and had beautiful wood carvings and art. It’s a place that I definitely want to return, just for the ambience.

I can't describe any word about my stay experience in this hotel except satisfied. I really love this hotel ambience with a touch of javanese traditional concept. All staffs is very friendly. The room is big and comfortable. Suitable for family travelers. Definitely will come back
