A very comfortable and pleasant place to stay. Our apartment was near the bottom of the complex with a balcony that was always in the shade. Other units overlooked the pool with sunny balconies and the “Sunset Apartments” were over the reception/restaurant area with great views and plenty of sun. Whichever unit you stay in the apartments are well kept, clean and airy with a large lounge/dining area. The kitchen is well equipped with a microwave, kettle, toaster, twin hob and under bench fridge. The lounge has a tv, but uk programmes are limited to BBC world News and BBC entertainment channel. OK if you like “Still Open All Hours” and other re-runs, but you are on holiday in a beautiful and friendly place so why stay in and watch TV. There is an on-site shop (not open when we were there but will be by end of March) and nearest and best mini market is in the village o the “Main Street” just behind the village square and opposite the ice cream parlour/cafe. It is a steep downhill walk to the village by the shortest route accessed by cutting through the apartments opposite the reception entrance and turning right but the easier way is to follow the road by going left from reception and right to go back to the main road and turning left. This brings you out at the bridge to the town square, which is where you want to be for great restaurants and drinks. Do not miss the water taxi across to Portimao or Praia Roche (10 euros return) we went to Portimao town to look at the excellent museum set in an old Sardine Canning Factory. I also highly recommend the “Indigo Restaurant” further up the street from the mini market. It serves Indian food prepared by the Owner, Mr Beddi. He and his staff are extremely friendly and very welcoming and he will make you what you want and to your taste. It was raining on our first arrival and I had to go to the village looking for food to cook. I took shelter on the seating outside of Indigo and, even though it was not open, the young ladies preparing for he evening made me a cup of tea. When Beddi arrived I asked where I could get a taxi and he gave me a lift back with no charge for the tea or lift. We went for dinner later as it had stopped raining and after being plied with more foo than was decent we were surprised by the exceptionally reasonable cost. To top it off it had started raining again and the excellent Beddi gave us a lift back again. What a way to start our holiday. Sadly we could not make a second visit as my wife felt unwell for the rest of the holiday (nothing to do with the stunning food we ate). We will be back to enjoy the beautiful area, the warm weather and the warm and welcoming Portuguese.

My wife and I stayed here the night of our wedding and the following night - we had always wanted to stay here as we know the area well and we were not disappointed. We had mentioned that we were getting married, and the staff had kindly beautifully decorated our room with flowers and left us a cold bottle of champagne which was a lovely touch. Our room was amazing, a huge terrace with a gorgeous sea view and the room itself had an amazing electronic skylight which meant you could see the stars when lying in bed at night. The breakfast was also fantastic, the food was delicious and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, eager to get us anything we wanted (and we saw that they were treating all guests in the same brilliant way). The hotel has a brilliant infinity pool which overlooks the sea and it very relaxing. We loved our stay, it was the perfect way to begin our marriage. Villa Praia Grande is a beautiful 5 bedroom house, in a fabulous location just 150m from the beach and a little further to shops and restaurants.It's a modern family house in Ferragudo, with wonderful sea views. Ibiza style, elegance and sophistication are all in abundance in this holiday villa.Its just few steps away from the beach (150 m to Praia Grande), and Ferragudo is only 15 minutes walking from the house. Restaurants or bars won't be hard to find, at Praia Grande or along the fisherman's harbor, in Ferragudo (famed for its fish and seafood restaurants). Once you cross the bridge you'll be in Portimão, but you can also take a Taxi Boat at Ferragudo harbor, which will leave you on the other side of the river. Carvoeiro is also a very nice option just 3km away.The villa is equipped with a spacious living room and dining area, a modern open kitchen and 5 bedrooms, which can accommodate a maximum of 10 adults and one child (extra charge for 11th person). Every bedroom has its own private bathroom. The house is surrounded by different areas.A lounge corner equipped with an attractive bar and outdoor fireplace, a BBQ by the kitchen, and a large deck in the facade: the perfect place to have breakfast under the palms, with the Atlantic Ocean just in front of you. On the opposite side of the Villa you'll find the swimming pool, an outdoor shower and a deck area. There you can relax and take in those great views on one of the sun beds. The rooftop is definitely a must in the villa too - get ready to witness the most beautiful sunsets! Internet connection and a Sonos-sound installation are available for our guests.Even if the temperatures are quite smooth in Algarve, the house is very well isolated and has floor heating (except in the bedrooms). In the living room, you will find a big flat screen and a stove, for that extra comfort. The kitchen has a modern cooking island, a very spacious fridge + freezer + ice cube machine combo, an electric oven, a dishwasher, and some other kitchen basics. You will...

I would use one word to describe this hotel -Paradise. We came as guests and the staff treated us so well, we left as friends. We had our wedding at the Bricia Du Mar and it was prefect. The location for a wedding is what we dreamed of. The hotel is low rise and like a little village with beautiful rooms and a stunning pool area. There is a fantastic gym and spa also. What Raquel, Pedro and everyone else did to help us was above and beyond what you would expect from a hotel. They say they are not wedding planners but what they did to help us arrange our wedding was incredible. This a family run hotel and you can see the care and attention they have to make the hotel a success as it is quite new. Everything is spotlessly clean and such a calming wonderful environment. Our wedding went without a hitch and the attention to detail was incredible. All the staff at our wedding were genuinely happy to be there from the chefs to the bar staff and waiters who couldn’t do enough for us.
