Terokai Ulasan Tetamu Hotel di Hampton

Element Hampton Peninsula Town Center

Back again for another go and figure I'd share some tips. I've stayed at this property many times and there is always an issue. During, and just after COVID, it was the condition of the rooms: chipping paint/drywall, carpet stains, broken window shades, terribly limp pillows, missing towel racks, etc. Most of those issues are gone and the basic maintenance appears to have improved. This time, around, it's the service (which previously had been pretty good). I'm a Bonvoy Platinum but realize my status holds no value at Element properties, but figured I'd ask for a 2nd floor room (laundry room is on this floor) that faced outside, not the courtyard (as others have noted, it's awkward to face other rooms). I was assigned a 3rd floor room and told the only other option was a first floor room (not great; people walk by and can peer inside if your shades aren't drawn). I was told the hotel was fully booked (not true; the parking lot is relatively empty and they're still selling rooms for my dates) but knew a protest was fruitless. The room I received also has the permanently sticky floor that others have noted (I tried cleaning it with Clorox), a safe that was still locked on arrival, a fridge that is not cold enough to store perishables, malfunctioning bedside lights that leave the room really dark, and a shower handle that doesn't appear to support anything but hot or scalding hot temps. Worst of all, when I raised the issue with the desk clerk, she noted maintenance wasn't available (it was a Sunday). I messaged the front desk on Monday through the Bonvoy app to remind them but haven't received a response (it's been nearly four hours). I have spent thousands of dollars at this property over the years but may have finally hit my breaking point. The nearby Hyatt Place is a solid alternative for road warriors, even if you're a devout Bonvoy member.

As we parked our car, several feral cats cruising the driveway scampered into the bushes. Later in the evening, there are lots of feral people wandering the boulevard. Our room, a supposed non-smoking one, reeked of stale tobacco smoke. I requested another and was given a key to a different room on the other side of the building. It was much better in that it didn't smell like cigarettes, but still had a peculiar odor that is hard to describe - like moist concrete. The room itself had been freshly painted, but the exterior looked dated and needed an upgrade. The surrounding area is sketchy, at best. The Waffle House just down the street only serves take-out through a bulletproof window slot on Friday and Saturday nights because of the rowdy drunks that prowl the streets on the weekends. As I write this at 11:30 pm, there is unintelligible yelling and noisy trucks racing up and down the Boulevard. It's hot, uncomfortable, and noisy. OK for a place to crash, if needed, but certainly not a place I'd bring my family.
Holiday Inn Express Hampton - Coliseum Central

Although I only stayed for a night, this was one of the best stays I've had at a Holiday Inn Express! Michelle at the Front Desk was super helpful and polite, and seemed to genuinely care about guest experience and customer service. Hotel is very clean, room had a great layout, not the same boring hotel room. Clean, convenient, and comfortable. The gym was more than adequate for a quick ”travel” workout before heading off to a day of meetings. I really enjoyed staying here and will certainly be back.
Red Roof Inn Hampton Coliseum & Convention Center

Great location in walking distance of entertainment (Hampton Coliseum), dining and shopping. Really pleasant and clean rooms, but the thing that makes this such a good place to stay are the staff. All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time and attentiveness. I felt like family from check-in. I don’t have a pet but I notice the hotel is pet friendly also. I’d return with no hesitation.
