Hotel Dengan Bar di Mpumalanga, Afrika Selatan

We spent three nights here on our first visit to SA. The all-female staff (all the male staff seem to work in the gardens!) are friendly and helpful. The lady in the office was brilliant and created a great itinerary for us for a couple of days, as we had no specific plans and no car. If you have a hire car, would recommend the gorge and Elephant Whispers, the sanctuary. She organised a driver to take us out to various local places, and we had a great time doing this. The room was very comfortable, good wifi, and we loved the outdoor shower, even if the weather was a little chilly while we were there! The restaurant offers a great choice of food, huge portions, and a comprehensive wine/drinks list too. The hotel is set in lovely grounds, where you can see monkeys scampering around and a huge variety of birds. There are a couple of short walking trails. We didn't try the pool, as it was still a bit cold forus. All in all a very positive introduction to SA!

We really enjoyed our stay at Kruger Gate Hotel, which included the package with meals and game drives each day. Our game drivers were knowledgeable and great at spotting animals--after three days, we had seen a huge array of animals including leopards, rhinos, elephants, lions, hyenas, a honey badger, hippos, etc. The hotel room was beautiful and well designed. The bed was comfortable and bathrooms spacious with soaking tubs. We greatly enjoyed watching animals from the hotel viewing deck. There was very little to improve, but I found the nightly dinner good but not great. There were also a few point where the hotel staff gave us conflicting information about meeting times, etc., so communication could be improved a bit. Overall, a completely fantastic experience.

Had the most wonderful stay at this lodge. We booked the Rhino package and it was all so easy and smooth, Candice arranged for us to be collected at the airport and everything was perfectly organised! We went on our first evening drive with an external guide, while we did see lions and a leopard on this drive, the second day with France from the Sabie Lodge was far more special. He was so informative about the park and each animal that we saw, whether it was big or small! It was a really special day! After long drives it was so nice to come back to the lodge and relax on the terrace while watching the hippos and elephants with fantastic food and service from the team. I would highly recommend this if you want an easy safari trip - we only stayed 2 nights but wished we stayed for longer! Overall it was fantastic value for money and the service was top notch!

Good family vibe and close to Kruger National Park great for a family with kids. Fantastic staff service downfall is the food unfortunately and price for locals. Buffet menu changes I saw meals from lunch like left overs being served again for supper for the price I expected much exquisite tasting food. Construction still happening they should advise this upon bookings. More a tourist attraction minus the food as that would be disappointing even the ”braai” evening was not good with the sides so a bit sad the relish tasted like canned relish without being spruced up at least not a great way to show off South African cuisine. Completely over priced for the local South Africans wouldn't pay out of my own money to come here. To pay R40 for a mini can of coke etc is just extreme hence more affordable for tourists

We actually stayed at Kruger View Lodge on the same property but couldn't find on this site! Accommodation and view of Kruger, Croc River etc was really great. Had friend from overseas so was impressed. Clean simple accommodation. Nice and quiet atmosphere. Easy walk in the evening to Rio Vista and The Deck Restaurant. Bush atmosphere (on the river), food and service great. Thanks for a lovely stay.

The waitress was very welcoming, friendly and served us with a smile. Her name is Phetsile (Tiktok) . A lot of jokes were shared at the table and and she was really interest in getting to know us as her guests. She really is an asset to The Capital Hotel

We stayed at Mercure Nelspruit from 7-8 April 2023 and we got no sleep! The following upset us: 1. Receptionist could not find our booking that was done through Bookings.com. 2. We got a room at the top and the bath was filthy and full of stains,the side of the hanging towels had dirt marks so we went back to reception and politely asked for another room. 3. The new room was now on the ground floor and it had a dirty toilet with black things on the inside, the mini fridge was broken with cracks and paint falling apart. 4. The light in the room is filled with dirt and dead bugs the sofa is old and colorless, the pillows and throws are ancient, probably never replaced since purchase. 5. There were people in the upper room loud, playing music, banging the varanda door, arguing and fighting, I tell you we felt so unsafe, I did not get any sleep. 6. People stay in the pool for as long as they like untill late night, there's just no control. 7. The shower is filthy in appearance, the door doesn't is old, broken and rusted. 8. The main door into the room had a broken handle on the inside, no lock to keep my family safe and the bed bottom was dirty and the pillows dusty. 8. No face cloths provided. I honestly don't know how this facility can be graded 3 stars by the tourism grading council because they need to go and remove those stars from this facility. The place is falling apart and what you see on the site is not what it looks like in reality, the pictures posted are old and they don't show the new reality of the hotel, right at the reception the painting of the building is falling apart and the situation is the throughout the facilities. I've stayed at this hotel multiple times, if I ever thought of going to Nelspruit Mercure was always my first choice, but I am surprised by the bad service I and my family got, I never thought that the quality of the service would degrade this much it is unbelievable.

Clean and neat. Good stay for the business trip. Breakfast was ok. Not many choices but enough for light meal. Shower booth was spacious and there was a soap and bodywash. Gym was in the other hotel but swimming pool was in the hotel. Near by the mall which is very convenient. I'll visit again.

We booked a two day stay at the Loeries and our stay was absolutely pleasant and amazing. Thanks to the great service from the guest house staff. Absolutely wonderful and they truly go out of their way to making your stay feel awesome and good. One thing I would asked the guest house though, to please be diligent with request coming with each booking made. Other than this, our stay was wonderful and the room was really spacious and enjoyable. Thank you. Zithobile
