La Struttura è posizionata nell'isolata campagna islandese. Si raggiunge facilmente dalla Ring Road seguendo le indicazioni. All'arrivo bisogna avvisare tramite un telefono del proprio arrivo e i Gestori arrivano in pochi minuti a darti la chiave. La camera è ampia, come pure il bagno ma non era provvista di cucina (non ho indagato se fosse possibile utilizzare quella della Struttura). A disposizione lettore DVD ed un'ampia collezione di DVD. Struttura pulitissima. Ho deciso di provare la colazione (da conteggiare a parte...): prodotti freschissimi e di mio gradimento. Letti comodissimi. Silenzio irreale. Simpatici e socievoli cavalli Islandesi nel recinto adiacente alla Struttura

This is one of the best hotels we stayed in this trip! Beautiful! In the middle of nowhere! Room - comfortable and everything you needed is provided! Love the atmosphere! Breakfast provided! We ate dinner which was delicious! Beautiful scenery from every room!

- Lovely and friendly hotel staff - Breakfast has a fast option but also a wide variety of hot and cold options of very good quality and taste - Bedroom is very comfortable with clean and high-quality bed linens and towels - Overall cleanliness of the hotel is spotless and very pleasant and organised - Hotel has an authentic style of a cosy farm place - Underfloor heating makes it very warm and cosy in the winter - Location is about 40 minutes driving from the capital with safe roads - Free parking or shuttle service at a cost available - Hotel is located in a tidy and interesting city, making it easy to get to other destinations - Horse riding tours are offered and highly recommended - Bonus supermarket nearby - Had an amazing stay and will definitely be coming back Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making the stay even better

Beautiful cozy cottages, modern amenities, close driving distance to waterfalls. Isolated, low light pollution great for stargazing and northern lights. The loft cottages have upper loft floor with sky window, very cool. For a couple with or without small child is enough space. Communication with access instructions was easy. People have complained about inflexible cancellation policy, but these are family-run cottages, not a big hotel, so they depend on the income and last minute cancellations have impact on the local people.

The Old Airline Guesthouse is an extremely nice guesthouse at a great value. It is situated strategically between two of Iceland most majestic sites, the Vatnajökull Glacier/Iceberg Lagoon and Hvalnes Nature Reserve. The Old Airline Guesthouse owner and host Sigga was absolutely wonderful. My wife and I had a small but awesome room with a view overlooking the Hofn bay area. Patrons can also enjoy a similar view in the upstairs common area. Local shops and restaurants are within walking distance. A continental breakfast is included in your stay. Being a guesthouse you do share a bathroom, other than that the Old Airline Guesthouse is truly a gem worth staying.

This was a surprise weekend away for my wife as it was her birthday. We have never been to Iceland before so it was an opportunity to broaden our horizons, the hotel was amazing, we were made to feel so welcome by all the staff from the initial check in right the way through to our early morning departure The restaurant service was amazing, they were so attentive, the food was delicious and even thinking about it now is making my mouth water. The overall venue is fantastic, it's a series of buildings, ours had 6 bedrooms and at the end there was a kitchen/chill out area that then leads out to a raised deck with two hot tubs that were for all of this building. We were so impressed with the venue, the staff and all the facilities, we would thoroughly recommend this hotel and we hope to return there again in the future

Overrated guest house. The menu the same every single day ( we stayed 3 days) Only three meunu choices. Food was decent. People are not super friendly. The worst part was they didn't tell us when the northern lights are available, or that we need to leave the site in order to see them. It was clear to them of that's why we were there...Because of this lack of information, we missed a whole night of seeing them. I found out later by someone else who's staying with the guest house right next door on the same lot that they saw The Northern lights on the night that I did not think we're out because they knew that they had to drive 10 minutes down the street where it was darker to see them! The bungalow was tiny for what they charged us. When we arrived the first night they didn't even have the heat turned on so it took 6 hours to warm the place. It was freezing! Breakfast was okay. The mirror was so high and tiny in the bathroom that it was useless to use. Guess they think guests who stay over 5 ft 5 inches ?! Only one trash can in the whole bungalow. I asked for another and they said too bad no can do. They wouldn't give extra towels or make up the room when you're out; and you have to ask for them. I would never go there again. I don't know why people like it because it's overrated compared to the other places I stayed. I suggest you look elsewhere. In sum, better prices, better rooms in the area than this.

Absolutely amazing our stay at this hotel. After 2 rough nights in others hotels this was a cherry on the top. It was my husband and I anniversary so we decided to booked this hotel to chill and enjoy our time. Staff were nice at the lobby, hotel comes with free parking, lobby was very nice and stylish, room were spacious and super modern, free buffet style breakfast A+++ and for 30 dollars extra you could use the sauna, steam and massage facility. Hotel its in downtown selfoss so everything was nearby and it's such a cute little town. I definitely recommend this hotel worth the extra money.

Everything about this hotel was great. It’s newly made- and the design is beautiful with big glass windows everywhere. Their hot tubs and sauna are also incredible and these overlook a lake and a glacier. We could see all this from our room and even the northern lights. Add to the facilities- the exceptional service. (All but one server at their restaurant was incredibly kind) All but one staff went out of their way to help and accommodate all our needs. And finally their breakfast- I have no words. And I don’t say this easily. I’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels. And most have just the same spread. This one was truly exceptional. We ended up spending way longer than we planned and got delayed because we couldn’t stop eating. Don’t think twice- go for this hotel. You’ll not regret it. This is not a criticism- just an advice for the hotel to add maybe some more vegetarian options to the menu- or if they’re not available to accommodate guests with a kids menu- or some bread starters. I still rate the hotel 5/5 but one server was quite unhelpful with providing us more options. And this was a slight hitch in a more than perfect experience. And the person at the reception totally helped us out and accommodated us after!

We were a family of 8 - three adults stayed in one cabin and the family of 5 (with 3 children 10-15 years), in another. The cabins were convenient because they had enough sleeping areas for everyone and had kitchens so we didn't have to eat out for every meal. Food in Iceland is extremely expensive!! Things that could be improved - reception/office hours weren't convenient given that the guesthouse is a bit of a distance from the important tourist sites in the area so we tended to leave before the office was open or return after it had closed. One cabin had an issue with the faucet in the shower not being clearly marked and thus it was challenging to get anything other than scalding water - but it wasn't until nearly the last day that we were able to get to the office to ask for help. The curtains are symbolic at best - during the summer you'll need eye masks since it never gets dark. One of the cabins had a mirror in the 'living room' which was very convenient so we didn't all need to use the bathroom mirror when trying to get ready for the day. It would be great if this was standard in all the cabins. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this guesthouse to others.
