Hotel Dengan Sarapan pagi di Iceland Selatan, Iceland

Wir waren begeistert, und das ist nicht leicht uns zu begeistern. Wir haben in Island einige Kaschemmen gesehen, aber dieses Hotel hat uns sehr gefallen. Man muss das immer im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels sehen, denn die Hotelpreise in Island sind insgesamt recht hoch. Es liegt am Ufer und nahe des Hafens. Unser Zimmer war geräumig, hell, einfach und geschmackvoll eingerichtet und groß genug für zwei Personen. Das Frühstück war OK. Am Hafen befinden sich nette Restaurants in Laufnähe, wo wir sehr gut gegessen haben. Für einen Stopp auf der Island-Rundreise ist es bestens geeignet.

Wir haben 2 Nächte im Kverna Guesthouse verbracht, in einem Dreibettzimmer. Die Vermieter waren freundlich. Es gab ein großes Gemeinschaftszimmer für alle Gäste mit TV, Gesellschaftsspielen, Mikrowelle, Wasserkocher, Geschirr, frischem Wasser. Das schmutzige Geschirr wurde vom Vermieter gesäubert. Es stand ein Kühlschrank für alle zur Verfügung, in dem man Lebensmittel beschriftet aufbewahren konnte. Das Frühstück war gut, mit Rührei, Pfannkuchen, warme Würstchen, weiße Bohnen, Porridge, frischem Obst, Gemüse, Kuchen, ...Betten waren gut, Kopfkissen zu hart. Mich als Leichtschläfer haben die quietschenden und polternden Türen im Haus gestört. Im Zimmer hat ein Kleiderständer, Haken oder Garderobe gefehlt. Im Gemeinschaftsbad gab es Shampoo und Duschbad. Tolle Wanderwege in der Nähe.

Check in were smooth and the hotel was located near a convenient shop. Breakfast was good and staffs were very friendly and helpful.

Absolutely amazing our stay at this hotel. After 2 rough nights in others hotels this was a cherry on the top. It was my husband and I anniversary so we decided to booked this hotel to chill and enjoy our time. Staff were nice at the lobby, hotel comes with free parking, lobby was very nice and stylish, room were spacious and super modern, free buffet style breakfast A+++ and for 30 dollars extra you could use the sauna, steam and massage facility. Hotel its in downtown selfoss so everything was nearby and it's such a cute little town. I definitely recommend this hotel worth the extra money.

We stayed here as the mid-point stop on our way to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. It is true that because it’s one of the larger hotels in the area, it is used by large tour groups, but that did not interfere with our stay at all. It is a roadside hotel, don’t expect any luxuries, but perfect for a one or two night stay. The rooms are very spacious and clean (because it’s a busy hotel, your room may not be ready before check-in time). The restaurant is large and they were able to accommodate us with no problem for dinner, and their breakfast buffet (included in the rate) is fantastic. It also has a great view. The location is great, close to Dyrholaey, Vik and Reynsfjara (black sand beach). Pro-tip: if you have dirty laundry, they will do it for you for about $25 per bag regardless of the size. I thought it was expensive so didn’t do it, and regretted it - everywhere else was either more expensive or didn’t offer the service at all. The staff works so hard - I saw the same person cleaning my room helping out at the restaurant, and everyone was very pleasant.

Great location and nice view from our king room with river view. Bed was comfy and room was very clean. Desk personnel were exceptionally helpful and friendly. I can't comment on the value, as it was part of a package tour as prices were not broken out of total, but we would definitely stay there again. We had prepaid for breakfast, which was excellent, but we did not otherwise dine at the hotel restaurant, so can't comment on that.

Good position to stop, from diamond beach to Reykjavík. Staff very friendly and helpful. Beds and room are good. Breakfast (incl dining room) and Dinner are quite basic and no alternatives nearby. If it’s on the right spot on your trip, take it, if you have alternatives, this is not a “must” on your trip.

Hotel Katla is located a few miles outside Vik. There is a central building that houses the restaurant and a number of separate buildings with guest rooms. There is an outside hot tub and a small lake. The rooms are good quality and spacious. The breakfast room is large and the breakfast was fine although we often had wait for items that had run out to be topped up. There is plenty of parking on site.

The hotel is clean and functional but is basically a big sprawling motel for bus tour groups. Independent travellers like us do stay there but it is nothing special. The shower was a small space which my tall husband found to be cramped. The bistro served a decent evening meal without being exciting. Tea and coffee was only in paper cups in both room and breakfast bar. The breakfast buffet was OK but after the bus groups had gone through like a swarm of locusts not everything was replenished.

Struttura moderna fuori da Hofn. Ambienti luminosi. Poco pratica l'ubicazione del bagno con il lavabo in camera la doccia in ambiente separato ed il WC in altro ambiente. Buona la colazione

In the small town of Hofn. Very small rooms. No cupbard. Very small sink and shower stall. Comfy beds. Near town amenities with supermarket. No bottled water, slippers, robes, safe etc. Kettle with coffee and tea. Actual keys to rooms vs key cards.

We were doing a 3-day Golden Circle tour and stopped here for one night. The buildings have an old-style quality to them. Knick-knacks everywhere give it a homey charm, along with the warm colours. Our room was comfortable and we slept great. Highlight was the restaurant. The food was well-priced and delicious. My partner and I each got a soup of the day, then we shared the cheese pizza. Many of the ingredients were local, including a beer made with arctic thyme. I wish I had saved room for dessert, because those sounded delicious as well. In the morning there is a free buffet breakfast with plenty of hot and cold options. My favourite was the pancakes with ”milk jam”, which tasted like dulce de leche, and bananas.

Having booked for the following day and not being able to continue towards Hofn due to a strong snowstorm, considering the very dangerous situation, we asked for availability or if they were full to let us sleep in any lucky situation or on a sofa in the hall . The Receptionist firmly denied any possibility of help both because they were full and for the lack of sofas and space in the hall, advising us to go to a guesthouse about twenty kilometers further on, stating that the storm would end shortly , unfortunately the news was without foundation. The next day, when we finally reached the room, to our amazement and disappointment we found that in the sleeping area of the structure there was actually a great deal of sofas and space available. Fortunately, on the evening of the storm, the nearby structure, even if complete, offered us hospitality Avendo prenotato per il giorno seguente e non essendo in grado di proseguire verso Hofn causa forte bufera di neve, considerata la situazione molto pericolosa, abbiamo chiesto disponibilità o in caso fossero al completo di farci dormire in qualsiasi situazione di fortuna o su un divano nella hall. L’ addetta alla Reception negava fermamente ogni possibilità di aiuto sia perché erano al completo e sia per la mancanza di divani e di spazio nella hall, consigliandoci di rivolgerci a una guesthouse a una ventina di chilometri più avanti affermando che la tempesta sarebbe terminata a poco, purtroppo la notizia risultava senza fondamento. Il giorno successivo, quando finalmente abbiamo raggiunto la camera, con nostro grande stupore e disappunto abbiamo constatato che nella zona notte della struttura in realtà c’era grande disponibilità sia di divani che di spazio. Fortunatamente, la sera della tempesta,la struttura vicina, anche se completa, ci ha offerto ospitalità.

I have experienced youth hostels and campsites that were better maintained. The furniture looks like it came from the bulky waste, the window had a crack in the glass, the paint on the frame had peeled off completely, there was a hole in a tile in the bathroom, the veneer on the bathroom door was peeling off, I could continue the list. The two nights I stayed there, I did not dare to take a shower, as the mould on the rubber seals was not inviting here either, and in the mini-bathroom, moreover, there was no ventilation whatsoever other than through the door (i.e. there was no ventilation system/fan or similar - hence the mould, I guess). We also ate there on the first evening - a mistake. Lovelessly prepared, overcooked and at best mediocre canteen level. The only time in my entire 14-day Ring Road trip that I did not eat well. The only plus: the thoroughly nice staff. Even though it is the only one among the guesthouses/hotels in Iceland we stayed in where the staff is apparently not used to food and drinks consumed on site being written on the room and paid for on departure. This caused a misunderstanding as they asked the tour operator if full board was also booked and told us, panicking, we should immediately call the operator. This caused unnecessary confusion, but was the least of the problems. Overall, I cannot recommend a stay here. And since the trip was a very expensive one (several thousand euros through a regular travel agency and not a cheap provider), such a mistake in booking the accommodation should not happen. Very disappointed.

為啥給三顆星，因為價格3000元以上的每晚房間，窗帘衹有一層無法密閉，冰川景色房含加床4000元以上，廁所小到轉身就要碰到牆壁，雖然酒店外觀很現代，但是不值得這個價格，細節部分比其他冰島同類酒店做得差。如果定價2000以下是合適的，畢竟比冰島的沃格爾鄉村旅舍要好。必經地理位置靠近主要公路值得關注。

We had booked Arnanes for one night as a stopover between Vik and Egilstaddir and it was a great choice. After a long day traveling and sightseeing, it was nice to be warmly greeted upon arrival and given the information we needed for our stay. The rooms are single story rooms in a long row, with parking outside your door but we couldn't hear any outside noise when we were in the room. The room was a nice size and very clean. The hotel location was quiet, with just a little noise from the road. Arnanes is just outside Hofn so we chose to eat in their restaurant. The hotel was fully booked and it seemed like everyone else did the same. I chose the lamb and it was the best lamb meal I had in 2 weeks traveling around Iceland. Breakfast in the morning was a small buffet with plenty of options, although the area was a little crowded to maneuver. I would book here again if returning to the area.

The apartment was more spacious than we imagined, more than enough room for 2 adults and 2 children. Very clean and the laundry room was an extra bonus. Location was directly on 1 walking distance to restaurants, grocery store, black sand beach, etc. staff was very helpful even when we had a late check in. I’d highly recommend this place as a stop over between Golden Circle and Glacier Lagoon!

We really enjoyed our stay here. It’s quiet, only about 7 rooms. The girl working when we arrived is just the nicest and so hardworking. She was a huge help the day we arrived running our drenched clothing through the dryer for us. We will be forever grateful for that. Rooms are very spacious and clean. It’s sorta middle ground, not a fancy place by any means, but also a step above basic. Breakfast was lovely and included freshly scrambled eggs. They have great blackout curtains for blocking the never setting Iceland sun. There did seem to be a bit of a funky drain smell in the bathroom at times that wafted. Location was great for getting to Vik, black sand beaches, glacier hike, etc.

I loved this place so much, despite advance booking that was a bit vague. It's in a remote but easily accessible area, and I don't remember ever being in a place so quiet and peaceful. Truly. With tons of fresh, Icelandic air. We stayed here for two nights while exploring the glacier lagoons to the east, along with Dyrhólaey and Reynisfjara beaches (and tons of nesting puffins!!!), and it was perfect. Our room was really sweet, with a huge bathroom. The owner — who moved to the location from Reykjavik when she was 20, with her horses — said that one wing used to be cow stables. In 2008 she converted the facility to a guesthouse. Everything was immaculate, with the traditional Icelandic custom of not wearing shoes inside — slippers were offered. We enjoyed a simple dinner there on our first night, with a choice of either chicken fingers or fried fish with fries and a salad (make a reservation). This was a huge convenience, because we arrived around 6 p.m. tired and not excited about venturing out to Vik, which the owner said was really busy at the time, with long waits at restaurants. Breakfasts were fine, with basic buffet items (cereals, cold cuts and cheese, hard-boiled eggs, various breads and jams, yogurt). The dining area, with windows all around, allows for great views. Despite what some online reviews said, we found the staff to be super friendly and accommodating. There's a nice sitting area with toys for children and an alcove with a small table and chairs for a mini-retreat area. I highly recommend this place — during our two-week vacation, this was our only ”guesthouse,” and it was fabulous. We felt very at home, even though we were just passing through.

Our family of 4 wanted to stay close to the Black Sand Beach, and make our own meals, so we decided to stay at the Puffin Hostel. The hostel is an older building, and has everything on the 1st floor; dining with plenty of seating, kitchen with a tall refrigerator & a couple of ovens with stove tops, sinks, separated showers & bathrooms. The room we had was on the 2nd floor (1st floor was common areas), and a small water closet was next to our room. In our room was hot (a window can be opened), and 2 bunk beds with towels and linen are present. Not many sockets on the wall, but we were prepared with double usb phone chargers. A grocery store is nearby & gas station (No man pump) & the Lava Show was a 5 minute walk from the hostel. Puffin hostel is in a good location, has a normal road (no gravel/dirt), plenty of parking, so if traveling the Ring Road on a budget, and VIK is on the travel itinerary, then here for 1 night works.
