The location is definitely the biggest strength of Royal Plaza Hotel Hong Kong. I would give it 5 stars for convenience—it is directly connected to MOKO, which makes it extremely convenient for last-minute shopping, dining and picking up anything you may need. It is also just a short walk from Mong Kok East MTR Station, making it easy to get around Hong Kong.
The room was surprisingly spacious by Hong Kong standards, which was a definite plus for our family. I had accidentally selected the wrong room type when making the booking, but the hotel staff were prompt and helpful when I requested to change from the upgraded King Bed room to a room with two double beds. As the family rooms were already fully booked, they arranged a handicap-accessible room for us instead. It was actually more spacious, so while it wasn't the room type I had originally intended to book, we appreciated the effort to accommodate our needs.
That said, some of the in-room amenities could use an upgrade. In particular, the hairdryer really needs replacing. It became extremely hot very quickly and was uncomfortable to use—I was concerned it might damage or burn my hair.
Overall, I found the hotel comfortable, convenient and well located, with good service and generous room space for Hong Kong. However, having stayed five nights at Intercity Hotel Shenzhen immediately before this, I found Royal Plaza to be a step down in terms of the overall room experience and amenities. This is not to say that Royal Plaza is a poor choice—it is still a solid option, particularly if location, shopping convenience and room size are your priorities.

I stayed for three nights. On the first day, my flight was delayed by 4 hours, and I arrived at 4 AM. The front desk staff was on duty and processed my check-in quickly. The room had a direct drinking water tap, which was a nice touch. The room was also relatively spacious, and the windowsill had a soft padded cushion where you could sit or lie down. The bedding was a down comforter. Controls for lighting, air conditioning, and curtains were all push-button style, located on the bedside table, which was convenient. The location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk from Causeway Bay MTR Station Exit F1, very close to SOGO, and there are many dining options nearby. Check-in and check-out at the front desk were efficient, and the staff were polite and attentive. Despite being in a bustling area, it was surprisingly quiet, with good soundproofing. Without me even mentioning that this stay was to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, Katie noticed it during check-in and arranged for a birthday cake to be delivered to our room at 12 o'clock, creating a wonderful surprise.
However, the cleanliness of the room was truly appalling. We found a cockroach in the first room we were assigned, and after moving to a suite, we discovered a pile of trash behind the sofa!
Fortunately, Katie's professional and thoughtful surprise made me very satisfied with this stay.

Due to a typhoon, my child was stranded in Hong Kong while transiting from the US to Shanghai. We booked a room at The Mira Hong Kong for him on short notice. We had stayed there before during a previous trip to Hong Kong and were impressed with the overall management, environment, and convenient location. That's why we booked it again for him, even though he was traveling alone. Because of the flight schedule, he arrived at the hotel around 9:00 AM. He asked the front desk if a room could be arranged, and they were incredibly accommodating, immediately providing him with a room. This act alone deserves high praise. As everyone knows, Hong Kong hotels typically have a 2:00 PM check-in time, but due to the special circumstances, the front desk staff made an exception for him, giving him a room early so he could shower and rest. I'd suggest providing hand soap in the rooms. The restaurant, while not having a huge variety, does make small changes to the menu daily. There's an older chef who often comes out to check empty trays and replenishes food promptly, which is very professional. The front desk staff are friendly and resolve issues quickly. We had a great stay at The Kowloon Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. The location is definitely one of the best things about this hotel—it’s very convenient and close to the MTR, restaurants, shops, and many places to explore around Tsim Sha Tsui. It made getting around Hong Kong so much easier.

We stayed at BP International for two nights in the family room as a family, and overall our stay was very pleasant, mainly thanks to its fantastic location. This hotel has an unbeatable spot for travellers visiting Hong Kong. It is easily accessible from West Kowloon Station, which made our arrival and departure stress-free. We did not need to take long taxi rides or navigate complicated public transport after getting off the high-speed rail.
The neighbourhood around the hotel is full of tourist attractions and plenty of dining options. There are countless restaurants, cafes and local eateries just a short walk away, so we never struggled to find meals at any time of day. Conveniently, Jollibee is only two blocks from the hotel entrance, which was a great quick meal option for our family after long days sightseeing. It was wonderful to step outside and immediately have access to food and shops, saving us lots of travel time.
While the location was excellent, we did notice a few drawbacks with the room. As expected for Hong Kong accommodation, the family room felt a little small. There was limited floor space once our luggage was unpacked, and moving around was a bit tight. The bunk bed was also not as practical as we hoped. Climbing up and down the double-deck bed was awkward, especially for the older family members in our group. It saved space, but convenience was compromised.
On the bright side, the cleanliness, service and location all deserve full marks. The room was immaculately cleaned every day, and the hotel staff were polite, helpful and responsive whenever we needed assistance. The amenities were solid overall, though there is room for minor improvements.
For families prioritising convenience and location, BP International is a great pick. If you are okay with a compact room and a less convenient bunk bed, this hotel offers amazing access to West Kowloon and all the nearby sights and restaurants. We would consider staying here again for our next Hong Kong trip, purely for how easy it made our holiday.DariRM342

Traveling from Xiamen to Hong Kong, it seems that due to environmental protection policies, hotels in Hong Kong no longer provide disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste. This hotel is conveniently located next to Prince Edward MTR Station, making transportation easy. There are also many shops nearby, which is great for shopping. The room was larger than expected; we, a family of three, chose a king-sized bed (1.8m), and the movable sofa could be used as a barrier next to it. Overall, it was quiet, but when actually sleeping, the air conditioner seemed a bit loud – something that could be improved. There were earplugs in the room, but I wasn't sure if they were complimentary since it wasn't specified, so I didn't use them. A universal adapter was provided. It would be even better if disposable slippers were offered for children. Check-in is after 3 PM; before that, you can only store your luggage. It would be nice if early check-in or a later check-out around 2 or 3 PM were possible. The hotel staff were very friendly and patient, and could communicate in Mandarin. Finally, I recommend a dim sum place near the hotel called 'Hot Spot Dim Sum' (热点点心); the prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious.DariRM259
