The Taipei MRT runs from around 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM daily. Trains arrive every 2–5 minutes during peak hours and around 7–10 minutes late at night.
⏱️ I caught the last train a couple of times from Ximen after supper—no worries at all. Stations display the timing of the last train for each platform, so you won’t get stuck.

There's construction on one side of the hotel, and the old windows don't close properly, so diesel fumes from the crane wafted directly into the bedroom. Not to mention the noise from the building work – imagine driving a car without air conditioning, stuck behind a diesel truck constantly spewing exhaust fumes. The result? A headache that required painkillers.
Luckily, Trip.com was great and got me a room change.
The mattress is very soft, so if you prefer lumbar support, you should reconsider. The family with kids next door was very noisy, and the front desk promptly moved me to another room. The transportation is very convenient, with the MRT station just a two-minute walk away.
The hotel lobby is like an MRT platform, bustling with people – from young to old, student groups to limping seniors, all attending some event. It's the opposite of quiet. If you enjoy crowded fairs, you might like the lively atmosphere. Even checking in took about 10 minutes.Dari€136

One of the most iconic hotel in Taiwan, especially the Grand Hotel - Taipei, elegant deco all the way from lobby to the room. The Grand Hotel didn't disappoint us, whether the facility, hospitality, entertainment, foods and scenic/view from hotel. Everything was excellent, hotel also have shuttle to nearby MRT station every 30 mins, both driver & staffs were very friendly and helpful. We also did the tour to west gate secret passage, the guide has lot of knowledge about the history and explained the background, history of how the Grand become today's The Grand hotel. We tried two of the restaurants on ground floor next to the lobby, they were both very nice & gave all flavors Taiwan has to offer. This hotel is a good location if you are coming to watch concert given that Taipei arena is right opposite within 1 traffic light away.
I’m surprised and happy that they allowed us to check in early and we did it via self service check in kiosk.
Hotel location is easy accessible within nearby metro and is also 2 station away from Songshan if you need to take a TRA to 九份. Surrounding with breeze mall and ikea right beside it and the best of all 7-11 mart is right in level 1 within the hotel without having you to walk all the way out if you need last minute supper or drinks.
As this is an eco friendly hotel, hence no mineral water is given but flasks are provided to fill water via their water dispenser near the lift lobby and not to forget their coffee are provided in capsule with coffee machine instead of packet.

I had an excellent stay at the Grand Hyatt Taipei. The location is unbeatable—right next to Taipei 101 and in the heart of the Xinyi district, making it so convenient for sightseeing, shopping, and dining.

- room not super conducive for light sleepers. E.g there is gap between the pelmet and curtain so once the sun rises, the light will shine into the room, your room will not be in the complete black-out state. Can bring an eye mask to help with this!

I've stayed here multiple times. The location is excellent, right next to Ningxia Night Market, and less than a 10-minute walk from Dihua Street and Zhongshan Shuanglian MRT Station. The rooms, though small, are clean and aesthetically pleasing. In previous stays, the soundproofing was acceptable, but this time, the guests across and next to us were a group of 'aunties' and 'uncles' who loved to leave their doors open and chat loudly until midnight, then woke us up again at 6 AM. I couldn't help but ask them if they could close their doors when talking, and they agreed, but then started again shortly after. I was speechless 😓. I understand this isn't something the hotel can control, and I can only blame my bad luck. However, perhaps the hotel could remind guests to keep quiet after 10 PM.Dari€14

I only stayed here for one night, but overall it was a surprisingly nice experience. Personnel is really nice and welcoming, the room is well equipped, the bed is comfortable. The metro station and Shillin Night Market is really close, and everything else you might need. A minor issue is that I stayed here in March and it was quite chilly in the room, but overall great value for money!Dari€36
🧭 Summary of the Taipei MRT Map – Why It’s a Game-Changer
After exploring Taipei from morning till malam every day, I can honestly say that the Taipei MRT system made my trip so much easier, cheaper, and more fun. 😄 I didn’t need to worry about expensive taxis, complicated routes, or getting sesat in a new city.
With the Taipei MRT map in one hand and my EasyCard in the other, I managed to:
- Catch sunset at Tamsui Old Street 🌅
- Relax in the Beitou hot springs ♨️
- Eat non-stop at Shilin and Raohe night markets 🍢
- Take the Maokong Gondola for tea with a view 🍵
- Hike up Elephant Mountain and snap pics of Taipei 101 📸
And all this was just a few MRT stops away!
The trains are clean, the stations are well-marked, and the connections are super smooth. As a Malaysian who’s used to crowded LRTs and complicated bus changes, I was really impressed lah. 🙌
