Was an overall good experience. Didn’t have any notable problems with the service, and the room was clean. I went out to Nantes for the afternoon and the bedsheets and towels had been changed. The location isn’t the best but not horrific either. There is a boat that you can get to cross the river to the city centre of Nantes and only costs €1.70 and just takes over 5 minutes to walk over there, with the ticket valid for other public transport in the city.

A lot of positive points. First, the greetings, the kindness, the availability and the advice from my host. The simplicity for the transportation with Jalla ( Again, a big thanks to him for bringing me everywhere! ). Also, the beauty of the spot, really calm, spacious, and a quality bedding. The three-filled garden. The pool is really appreciated. Finally, the greatest quality of the food. Some delicious dishes and really copious. A superb marrocan cook culture with a lot of different dishes cooked with heart, and trust me you can feel it. I really recommend this guest house and I will probably come back again as soon as possible!

Receptionist was extremely rude, refused to allow a 25min earlier check in and forced me another guest to wait inside in 30 degree heat and humidity. I was told I “may not wait in the bank when it is closed so why would I believe I could wait in a hotel when it is closed”. This occurred during an event attended by 325 000 people - one would assume flexibility by staff as guests arrive from all around the world. Amenities were basic: no hairdryer, no USB ports to charge devices, no mirror in the room suitable for hair and makeup other than in the bathroom, towels were threadbare and randomly given 1 or 2, sheets are not changed daily under the guise and convenient excuse of being “environmentally conscious”. Breakfast is all processed food and beverages with no healthy options of whole foods. An altogether unpleasant stay. The receptionist set the tone for an unwelcome environment.

Chambre propre et moderne. WC, salle de douche bien arrangés. Réception charmante et efficace. Restauration (petits déjeuners) à prix modeste. Toutes les qualités qu'il me faut. Je vais y retourner.

Excellent surprise for this hotel conveniently located between Nantes city center and on the way to the airport if catching a plane. I booked a one-night stay (04th - 05th December 2021) also based on the positive reviews read on Google and ***********. My stay in room 304 was extremely pleasant as the room is perfectly located on the courtyard, providing a quiet surrounding. The room itself is big and I was particularly impressed by its cleanliness. Furthermore, check in and check out at reception was very smooth and handled professionally. Talking to the reception team, it is obvious they genuinely like their job in the hospitality business. Their commitment, all the more resounding in this time of uncertainty, is pleasant and warm to witness. Next time in Nantes, I have found my preferred hotel :-)

At first we were hesitant as it was far from town, we had no car and had to rely on cabs. You can see that a lot of work has gone into updating the rooms and communal area. They didn’t speak a lot of English so information sharing was hard . Until we met a guy called Juliane , he was very helpful and used an app to translate our conversations. He was helpful and friendly , he was a credit to the company and we thank you for you help.

The hotel was a little further out than I expected as it says central, also the room we were given was lovely but a few things need improving, the bathroom stunk of garlic when we arrived, just the bathroom and it went on opening the door and spraying perfume after a while but smelt liked they cleaned it with garlic oil, also there is no fan or air-conditioning and it was very warm, we had the windows open but both my daughter and I got eaten alive by mosquitos so a fan in the room would be helpful! Also was very noisy outside, building works opposite at 7am and uni students opposite the other way laughing and singing till the early hours so not much sleep between the noise, Hest and mosquitos! The actual room is lovely, with a kitchen area but just a few improvements would make it better.

Dormis dans cette hôtel pour une seule nuit et tant mieux ! Même si on ne s'attend pas à un service 3 étoiles pour cette chaîne d'hôtel le minimum demandé est une chambre propre. Couette trouée, tête d'oreiller absente, tâche suspects sur les draps et sous le lit... Sans compter l'incapacité de hôtel de fournir des serviettes malgré leurs oublie en préparant la chambre. Au delà de ça petite mention sur l'isolation inexistante et l'humidité omni présente dans le chambre.... Aussi Réveil un peu compliqué dans cette hôtel quand on dors sur un matela très fin sur une planche de bois. Nous pensions pouvoir repartir de bons pieds grâce au petit déjeuner mais nous avons été une nouvelle fois déçu quand on nous a demandé de nous dépêché car il fermait le petit déjeuner 30 min avant l'heure annoncé par l'hôtel. Sans compter les tranche de brioche dure comme de la brique et la vu sur les claquettes nue pieds de la femme de ménage qui étais à l'accueil qui attendais qu'on parte au plus vite... Heureusement que les deux agents d'accueille restaient aimable et poli. La direction devrais revoir ses hôtel plus régulièrement et les testé eux même pour se rendre compte des choses...

Perfectly located, just a 10 minute walk from the beachfront, restaurants, watersports and ******, this apart/hotel is an ideal base when visiting La Baule and the surrounding area. It's nestled within a residential area so much calmer than the busy seafront. Rooms are decent, well equipped with a good bathroom. Staff are friendly and helpful (they booked our terre de sel visit for us). There is a small pool and a ping pong table. Breakfast is available for a fee, but we found a really nice epicèrie just a 5min walk away, selling bread, croissants, fruit, veg, paté and coffee too. WiFi could be a bit sporadic at hotel, but I would highly recommend.

Intrusion of Privacy Overall, we were OK with the hotel until one morning when someone knocked on the door. It was 9:30am on a Friday and we were not ready. Two staff asked if they could enter the room to count the towels and linen, ”pour compter le linge”. My wife was still in pyjamas, and we felt like a complete INTRUSION of our PRIVACY. They touched the bed linen with their hands, they looked around the room as if they were looking for something or if they were police. My regret was I should have asked for IDs before letting them in or call reception. Like I said, we were not quite awake, I wasn't ready for this, and this was so completely weird. It felt completely unnecessary. I have dual citizenship French and British, this wasn't a language problem. I can't imagine how someone who wouldn't speak French could process this situation. We have decided to never use this hotel group again as a result and waited over a month before writing this review. ---- The hotel replied my husband. We cannot accept all of their excuses For Intrusion of Privacy! 1/ The hotel said, they posted a notice inside the lift. But we didn't see any notice - they can come into customers' rooms to check/ count a towel anytime. Normally, if you have a customer/ traveller, you will not read all notices inside a lift with some heavy suitcases. It seems the hotel just wants to find an excuse to deny their faults - 2 staff went to our room when we just woke up with our pyjamas at 9:30am. Also, it doesn't make sense. That's meant - the hotel staff can do anything they want that they can go to customer room anytime if they post any notice. They should inform all our customers when we check in face to face at the counter. Besides, we needed to use a card access the lift to go up. It's also very annoying as the cards didn't work a few times, so we needed to go back to a reception to refix our cards during 4 nights stay. If they really posted a notice - How can every customer can read this notice because we had the cards problems already ??? 2/ the hotel messages also make us feel more upset and disappointed. They told us, actually, 2 staff were a hotel director and reception manager who got into our room to count a towl at 9:30am. They didn't show us their staff card / ID. The didn't say they were a hotel director and receiption manager. I asked my friend who is working in one international brand hotel. She, this Nantes hotel made a big trouble and fault..So, it's not acceptable. Since a customer rents a room, a staff should not get into a customer room except a cleaner or having an emergency situation. We DID put a sign - DON'T DISTURB. 2 staff still knocked our door and they needed to go in. Honestly, they are a hotel director and receiption manager who should know more hotel rules than a junior staff. We cannot accept these kinds of excuses. We would not rent this brand of hotel anymore. Not Recommended.

Basic accommodation in central Nantes. Clean and quiet. Handily located directly across from the Tour Bretagne. No lift so not for the elderly or unfit. A reasonable value breakfast although you can do better if you're prepared to stretch your legs first thing in the morning. An ideal choice for the budget traveller.

This apart hotel is in an ideal, quiet location, 10mins walk down into the centre of the city. Three good restaurants and a small supermarket within 200m. Very good value, clean, functional, everything you'd need for a few days stay. Limited, but adequate cooking area with fridge, coffee machine, oven, hob, microwave, but no kettle or toaster. Bathroom good, but no toiletries provided. We got into the private underground car park, at Euro10/day, but perhaps not big enough for all guests?

However, we were given family room 111 which faces the street. The air conditioning was not working well, and when we opened the windows, there was the sound of the train, people fighting, or couples. We asked to have the air fixed but were just as uncomfortable the second night. The “rooms” are separated by sliding bamboo curtains, which made it impossible to sleep until the last person went to bed. Breakfast was very sp**** at the €14 per person charge. But reception staff was impeccably nice. I think we would choose a real hotel with real beds and real doors next time.

Lovely and wide with good pressure Comfortable beds ( had singles) Quiet room despite airport near bye Elevator Garden setting Cons: Outdated sad with minimum furniture ( perhaps we had the non yet updated room) A towel was found in my bed however it was clean towel but let me a bit unsettled. I brought it to the reception the next day for them to handle this or add it back to their towels count as we had all our towels accounted for. The staff was surprised. They later sent an email apologizing Breakfast price outrageous ( even for France so we did not get it) Reminds me of a better motel 6 A bit pricey for what is given The sister hotel next door is lovely but outrageous for dinner or a drink in a gorgeous lobby Overall clean enough and good location for one night no more Small room ( very ) Would return for an early departure from airport

This hotel is in a fabulous location. Bars, restaurants and shops all nearby. However the staff are not of the same quality. Our room had a bath but the plug did not work and so the water just drained out as fast as it came out of the taps. The device on the side of the bath was broken and thus the plug was useless. I mentioned to the girl on reception that there was a problem with the bath and it needed fixing. She told me she would get it fixed. Nobody arrived to fix it that day so I explained the situation to another girl the following day. Again nothing happened. Both girls were not interested and ghisvreflects very poorly on the hotel and the Mercure group in general.

Habitué d'un hôtel 2* assez proche mais sans ascenseur, j'ai choisi cet hôtel Astoria 3* à l'occasion d'un voyage avec mon épouse et ma fille pour ”leur offrir un peu plus de confort”. Mal m'en a pris. D'une part, les chambres de l'hôtel Astoria sont petites, aménagées sans aucun goût, quelques petites étagères en guise d'ameublement, une salle de bain réduite avec une douche étroite et sans rideau ce qui permet d'inonder la salle de bain à chaque coup. Pour cette venue, l'ascenseur était un point important, eh bien l'ascenseur était en panne ”depuis hier” (une classique dans les réponses de ce type) et n'a pas été remis en marche durant notre séjour, ce qui ne s'est même pas traduit par ”un geste commercial” de la part de l'hôtel. Quant au petit-déjeuner, le choix est maigre pour les 11 euros demandés. En résumé, un séjour beaucoup plus cher que d'habitude pour 1* de plus et du confort en moins.

Chosen mainly because it offered secure car parking together with location and a reasonable price. It’s not at the heart of the city but close enough and everything within walking distance. When arriving by car, pop into the hotel to get the car park remote and detailed instructions on how to access. Despite it seeming complicated the lift from the car park comes up in reception. We had booked a studio apartment but got a one bed. Comfortable bed, shower worked well. Spacious sitting room. This is not a luxurious place but it was clean, everything worked and the staff were great - especially the Mexican lady working mornings. It represents a solid choice.

Les chambres sont spacieuses et propres! La literie est confortable, les nuits sont calmes. Le restaurant de l’hôtel est bon, les plats proviennent d’un traiteur de Nantes. L’accueil et le service est très agréable. Les personnes qui se sont occupées de nous étaient à l’écoute et disponible pour nous satisfaire à chaque fois. Je recommande !

I was disappointed with this hotel compared to the price we paid, appears we paid over the normal price by booking far in advance. However it does have all that you need, comfortable bed, en suite bathroom (although smallest bathroom I’ve ever seen) showers, and an ok breakfast. If you’re stopping for 1 or 2 nights it will be ok, but wouldn’t stay any longer. The one thing that really let this place down for me was the lack of air con. The rooms were like a sauna, I wouldn’t recommend staying here in the height of summer. It seriously needs air con as it’s like an oven. Location is good with free parking and a tram stop just outside, about 20 mins tram ride into the centre of the city. Overall, it was just below average (if it had air con, then would have been average). It is a budget hotel.

We stayed here, my husband , daughter and I on our way down to south-west France. The staff were welcoming and very helpful and our room was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was served in the small restaurant and there was plenty of choice - the trays and breads were refreshed regularly. We did have an issue with our card key but it was resolved quickly - the cleaning staff tried to help us initially and were quick to escalate when they couldn’t get into the room. The hotel isn’t far from the old town where there are restaurants and bars. We will definitely stay here again!

Nous avons été très bien accueilli dans cet hôtel. Cet hôtel est lumineux, accueillant et propre. Nous avons apprécié notre chambre pour 3. Elle est très bien agencée et belle avec un balcon. La literie est bonne avec des bons oreillers. Salle de bain avec douche et vasque assez grande et bien équipée. Wc séparé de la salle de bain. Ne convient pas pour des personnes âgées car l’accès de la chambre avec les escaliers est compliqué avec des valises. Nous gardons sans souci l’adresse de cet hôtel.

The hotel is functional and an ideal stopover point for travelling in France. The room was very clean and the bathroom facilities were good. The beds were quite hard and the sofa bed used by our children was very squeaky!! Breakfast is very good with local and organic produce.

Comfy bed, great shower and a clean room. Good breakfast. If your going to le mans circuit it's perfect, great cheap parking 2 minutes walk away, tram to circuit 5 minutes away. Town center 10 minutes.

Very much a budget hotel and a French budget hotel is slightly less desirable than a budget chain in the UK. The room was relatively clean and OK to sleep in. The kids single beds being up some stairs was a great design but stairs incredibly steep and quite difficult for young children. Contactless check in with a code for the door a great idea. Next door was a fantastic restaurant next to the lake which would highly recommend.
