Toilet didn't flush properly, shower drain blocked. Twin beds, not matching in size and height. TV couldn't be operated without calling for assistance and then only one channel operating. Wi-Fi in room intermittent, had to use Wi-Fi in dining room to obtain internet access. Room cleaner friendly and helpful, owner surly, didn't greet us or address our issues with us. However, the location is very convenient, the room was clean but the breakfast average.

I really hate to write a bad review, but there was just so little to like about our stay at the Isle of Skye Guest House. I chalk this up to me being a cheapskate and not understanding the Skye market, so DO YOUR RESEARCH. However, I will note that I saw quite a few similar facilities as we drove around the island -- a lot of tired looking inns that probably cost a pretty penny and were proudly displaying ”no vacancy” signs in early September. I started my search for lodging about 10 months in advance of our trip and quickly discovered that many options were already full, cost more than I wanted to pay, or both. So I ended up booking the Isle of Skye Guest House and there you have it. Read the other reviews -- they're all true. Our room was really small, had no storage space, and provided one of the worst beds I've slept on as an adult: the mattress was mushy, sagging, and thoroughly uncomfortable. The walls were thin, the windows old and single pane, and the bathroom so small you had to close the door before you could turn around. Worst of all, the shower flooded and we had to use all our towels to sop up the water. And, as others have noted: there's no staff on site. If I ever find myself staying on Skye again, it won't be here. It's not that it was terrible or unsafe or not clean -- it's just that it wasn't at all what I wanted or expected for the money spent. So spend more -- it'll be worth it!

We were looking for accommodation in the Lochaber area as a base for a kayaking weekend, and Corran bunkhouse fit the bill perfectly. Everything is good quality, and the rooms are clean and functional - ours had a nice ensuite too. There is a large common room with comfy seating and a log burner which was a nice place to relax, but we usually ended up sitting in the communal dining kitchen. The kitchen had everything you could need to make from snacks to big meals, and there was plenty of food storage and fridge space. Plenty of space to sit and eat too. A really big plus was the two drying rooms, one off the kitchen which had a dehumidifier, and another outside, which allowed lots of wet gear to be dried quickly - a real bonus if you're there for a few days. The owner Alan couldn't be more helpful, and gave us tips on the best places to eat wherever we were going. I can thoroughly recommend getting the ferry over to Ardgour to the pub for food. A minute from the bunkhouse, its free for foot passengers, the crossing takes about 5 minutes, and is a nice way to go to dinner. Overall i cant recommend the place highly enough. A modern, clean and enjoyable place to spend a night or two.

We visited inverness for a short time and we honestly couldn’t of had an easier accommodation experience, the staff are very friendly and attentive to your every need, when we first arrived they upgraded our room for free and let us check in early further more when we wanted breakfast in the morning it only cost us £10 a head and they offer a wide range of breakfast options, when we checked out they also let us keep our bags at the house whilst we spent our last few hours exploring the city. Highly recommend, priced well too.

Staff is very nice, good serviced minded and helpful. He cares customers so much and take care well. Information we need is well given. Hotel's location is great with view point view. It is so amazing to wake up and see Sun Rise behind mountains by room' s window. Room is very cozy with good bedding and full of facilities in room.

Inverlochy Castle was very disappointing and not worth the effort it takes to get there. The castle and guest rooms are dated and are in need of complete updating. After being shown our room which was in desperate need of a renovation, we asked to move to a different room - something to which I gather that they're unaccustomed. The new room, while an improvement, was in a different building so we had to trudge through the rain and mist for every meal. And the pathway was dark and not particularly well lit. When we inquired about the activities we realized that they were very limited, particularly in the fall months. And since we were without a car we felt stranded. Other than a walk through the grounds (which are quite beautiful) there isn't even a fitness center or small room to work out. So, if it's raining, which it often is, there's not too much to do. The staff, while pleasant and polite, was very young and inexperienced. They need to import senior, experienced and well-trained staff from other comparatively priced properties. Both sinks in the bathroom were clogged and the clock was not functioning. We did report this and one sink was unclogged by the staff, but the other repairs were not made during our 2 night stay. How is it that housekeeping can clean a room several times a week, if not daily, and not notice such things? Dinner in the main dining room is pre fixe and while the food was good, not outstanding as it should have been for the price ($188 excluding beverages) and the fuss they made over it, there is only one main course so if you don't eat say, venison, or they're serving some other food you may dislike, you'll be out of luck. The food at the alternative restaurant - The Factors Pub, was average at best though the French fries were excellent. Overall, this was a very disappointing and expensive stay and I would not recommend it unless they make some significant improvements.

My family and I traveled to Scotland in June to catch the first part of The Open, hang out in Edinburgh, and then head off into the Highlands. We moved around a lot during our adventure and toward the end of our trip found our way to Inverness. It turned out to be the hidden gem of our holiday. This was in no small part due to making the choice to stay at the Castle B&B. It was a fantastic location, had great accommodations, a lovely breakfast, and superb hosts. Located five minutes outside of Drumnadrochit, but the owner gave us excellent directions and we found it without a problem. You do need to drive to find somewhere to eat (and there’s very limited choice in the evenings), but the owners recommended the Loch Ness Inn which we dropped in to before arrival and the food and beer were excellent Warm friendly welcome by the lady of the house, showed us around and explained everything. Room was excellent – very spacious and all controlled by Amazon Echo (including the heating). View from our window was across Loch Meiklie and there were even binoculars in the room for a better view. Coffee / tea making facilities with an array of snacks to help ourselves to if we wanted. Bathroom was great with large walk in shower. Bed was large and very comfortable. Breakfast was continental only, but it was stunning. Wide range of pastries, cereal, fruit etc with a selection of cold meats and different cheeses – one of our favourite breakfasts of our two weeks in Scotland. The hosts Stu and his wife were first class – excellent conversation over breakfast Great value for money. Would definitely stay here again if we’re ever in this part of the country.

The location is remote but the environment of this location is quiet. Therefore, it is still valuable to live at the place. We have taken the dinner at the centre. All the foods were delicious and excellent and the price was quite reasonable. I will select this accommodation if we go to highland again.
